I just recalled that I once received a letter from Maybank asking me to start spending on with my AMEX and I will be rewarded with a Starbucks voucher. Did you get such letter?
*
I got d postcard saying that if I spend Rm 50 I will get RM 10 Starbucks voucher but till today I haven't gotten anything yet.

Today 1st day of the month I already maxed out the RM 50 rebate for my Amex. Last month my rebate only about RM 20. Very unhealthy spending patten sad.gif

i am required to call the branch directly sad.gif thanks anyway the 1300 is the right one smile.gif

Sorry, it was 1300 sweat.gif

You can actually ask the CS to check in the system whether your application was received or not by the CC processing department. If had not, then only you need to call the branch to find out what happened to the application.

BE form is not really qualified. EA form should be the correct document from LHDN for employment.
*
I might want to go and apply for increase of credit limit soon cause I want to take advantage of the 12 months 0% balance transfer. It has already been 6 months since I got the cards.

But my EA and BE form figures are different by quite a huge amount. I applied my card using my pay slip only, lets say 30K. EA form also shows 30K. However, lets say I rob people as my part time job at night and I had declared it in my BE form April this year making it to say to 50K.

So am I eligible for credit limit based on 50K income or just 30K from the salary slip?

BE form should always be same or higher than EA form(s) for the same period because you are only transferring or combining the figures shown in one or more EA forms to the BE form.

Income from illegal sources are not taxable because there is no legal documentation for such monies and thus nothing to submit for taxation. This is not to say there are no means to legalise such incomes by creation of fake/incorrect documentation but this is really out of topic.
*
I have other source of income that is taxable just that it is not in any form of official papers. Probably I can print out an A4 paper and have it signed. Thats all. And I did declared it in my BE form and paid my tax for that income.

I also charge whatever small amount whenever possible. It just irritates me when a lot of restaurant have this RM 50 minimum amount required in order to use the card.

So am I able to burst the limit? Or the transaction will be rejected?
*
I share with you my story. Few weeks back, I booked a hotel room via Otel.com. There were some issue with my booking so it was canceled on their end and I gotta rebook. The problem was the initial booking amount was still floating when I tried to make the second booking. It rejected my booking because I did not have enough CL as the floating amount is still there.

Went and call the CS but they could not do anything on the floating amount as they need Otel.com to cancel the transaction. Otel.com on the other hand said they had canceled the transaction. (Maybe there is a grace period before I get the floating money back. I don't know.) So some time wasted calling the CS but no one could help me on this so at the end, I just pay up my CC outstanding amount early to book again.

So in my case, they did not let me burst my CL.

I burst my CL and Maybank continued to approve a few more hundred Ringgit when i was in Beijing last month. Supposedly Maybank should have rejected the last transaction i made in Beijing because i have almost used up my whole CL and in order for this transaction to go through, i needed at least RM300 more. However, Maybank approved this transaction, much to my surprise.

Anyway, i flew Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong one day later and bought something from the inflight duty free. Again, Maybank approved the payment too  rclxub.gif  By this time, my Maybank credit card was more than RM500 over limit  doh.gif
*
Sorry I forgot to mention this. I asked them for temp credit limit increase since I am just short of 500 but they declined. They say they will only approve such cases when I am in overseas or in an emergency (eg. hospital).

So maybe when you are in overseas they are more lenient. My guess.

Have you guys ever receive a call fr MBB whenever you charge a big amount to your cards?

For me, I've contacted the customer service few times and requeted them to call me to verify my payment if the individual transaction amount is more than RM 5k (exception to the rule is purchase of flight ticket and hotel bills).

I've recently paid RM20k single payment for a training course. And still no one from MBB contact me for payment verification. This lead me to feel unsecure about maybank cards. Share with me if you have a similiar consern.
*
I got the call only once when I link my Paypal to the card. Thats all. Even I swiped over the credit limit also they did not call me.

On the other hand, Public Bank will normally call me whenever I swipe for an anything that is over 1K.

I haven't tried for Maybank but I was told that statement due date + 3 day grace period is the real date that the bank would charge interest.

Tried statement date+2 days with CIMB, no interest charged.
*
Public Bank I tried statement due date + 1 day and no interest were charged.

This month's Maybank will also be statement due date + 1 day for me. Wanted to pay my bill yesterday and realized I did not have enough to pay in my Maybank account. So I interbank transfered from SCB yesterday but the funds was only credited today. So lets see how tongue.gif

Yup. Jusco card gives 10% discount. That day when I paid, I give the cashier 4 cards to swipe just for a drink.

J Card - 10% discount
Genting Card - Cant remember 2X or 3X World Points
BCard - Berjaya's Loyalty Card. Not mine. Don't bother since I am against Vincent Tan except Starbucks.
Amex - 5% + 2.5% discount.

I have 14 cards (CC, DC and Loyalty Card) in my wallet excluding about 6 which I keep at home cause I seldom use. All for different purposes. How I wish I could consolidate all into 1 card and select the cards I want at the cashier.

I might just apply one J Card for the sake of Starbucks. tongue.gif It seems to be the perfect friend for my AmEx. Spend at Starbucks during weekends, 15% + 5xTP. Wonderful! rclxms.gif

I might just get a tumbler and get another RM 2 off but the only thing that holds me back is that a Starbucks' tumbler doesn't come cheap. laugh.gif

The J Card 10% off thingy is gonna last for a long period or just temporary? I remembered I was asked by the cashier if I have a J Card back in August.
*
I am not too sure about how long the promo will last but there was a barista that told me for those who use Starbucks Card in the future might not be able to enjoy the 10% J Card discount reason that the Starbucks Card is already having a buy 10 free 1 drink promo hence is already at 10% discount.

Btw, just found something interesting. I booked a hotel in Bangkok recently but due to flood, I canceled it. The hotel debited me back X amount of money and I lost the X amount of points based on the amount the debited.

The discounts given by J card is not valid with other promo or discounts, so most likely you cant use it with Starbucks Card soon.

Well, that is logical because technically you didnt purchase anything, so you dont get any TP.
*
Technically Starbucks card is more of a prepaid card rather than promo card or discount card.

200 TP = RM1. I am not sure whether they allow you to combine all the TPs from different cards or not

Yes, you can combine all your TP into 1.

The Starbucks 10% offer I got is from April this year where I didn't use the card for the first 2 weeks after obtaining it. They sent a postcard saying that if I use RM 50 and above within X number of days, I will get the voucher. This is like 6 months ago laugh.gif

Check the exchange rate different. You may lose the exchange rate conversion cause Paypal gives pretty low conversion rate from USD back to MYR. The rate I usually get is 0.1 lower than what they advertised on XE.com.
