hi guys

i purchased a tour from taiwan worth rm18+k a week ago with my mbb2 amex plat. informed the merchant to cancel the transaction and told them to charge it to my mbb vi instead. According to the merchant(taiwan) they cancelled the chargeslast friday.. having some issues coz the amount is still there on my amex when i log into mb2u. and my vmbb vi is also being charged.. anyone knows how long it takes for them to do a full refund. thanks

Not really actually. It happened to me once. However, as this payment was done in a foreign country, refund is still automatic but could be longer (last time Citibank told me it could take about 2 weeks) but rest assured that if they really have canceled that payment, money will definitely be refunded to your account and you do not have to dispute the transaction.

But the thing is, i still prefer to use my Citibank VISA (in places that do not accept AMEX) so that all my hard earned rewards points will go into this particular card account. This way i can redeem for something faster  smile.gif

citybank visa offers better points than mbb vi?

as long as the country of transaction is not MY (Malaysia) then it is considered an overseas transaction. So it depends on the country that processed the payment.

Before you make payment next time look out for an option where Play-Asia either does the forex for you (hence the transaction in RM + bad rates) or to let the banks do it for you.

do share once your statement comes.

damn.. i didnt notice that.. yep extremly bad rates.. i should have checked properly for the forex options..

Can i use the amex to autodebit the monthly payment of prudential insurance? Then got additional charges or not?
Currently the monthly payment is autodebit through my saving account and  will charge RM 1 for each transaction.
