Am i in danger?

Was trying to pay something thru paypal with my Amex but it fail so i called MBB CS.
That fella ask for my card number, then subsequently ask for the 4 digit 'security code'.
I asked why the security code, he replied 'to check'.
After i provided the number... somehow the line got cut off after a little while. (Is this normal? Asking for security code?)

I called back shortly after and this time it is another CS that answered, she enable the online transaction without asking for my security code.

This makes me wonder why the hell that fella ask for my security code

1st time when i called i was driving and lazy to call back after the call was disconnected.
Later when i called back, i just reached restaurant for dinner and my gf was bugging me with what to order.. so didn't really come into my mind. It was during the dinner and after processing my paypal transaction only I started to wonder about it.

Asked by MBB Customer Service as well?

Called CS, they say it is normal for CS to ask the 4 digit security code if we called in and complain/says that our transaction fail. As they need the code to trace back blablablablablablabla.....
I asked any danger of being misuse by CS that got my info, he said it is safe ... oh well ...

Is the American Express (https://www.americanexpress.com.my/) reward catalague = Maybank Treatpoints reward?

Am I mistaken to think that if I use my MB2Kard Amex i get 5x TP and also rewards point of Amex? Or are both of them are actually the same thing?
