OMG! This is new. I remembered no such thing previous years. I have been using other MBB CC for 3 years.

There's only tax related to CC which is GST!

Sorry, but why is this an issue? If MBB blocked your card, you'll probably post here saying MBB ruined your trip. This has happened many times in the CC threads. shakehead.gif

His concern is the so called transaction alert via SMS which not many receive it as of today.

Installment plan depends on the merchant. You have to ask the merchant if their Maybank terminal support installment with AMEX.

Not really sure.. never do installment plan using any other cc before  hmm.gif
thought want to get an iphone 4S from digi. lol
I know Digi receive AMEX but not sure if support the installment plan.. guess have to go down to digi centre to ask about it
*
Even though the merchant accepts AMEX but it doesn't mean that the terminal they use support installment plan. It's better to clarify with the merchant before the purchase.

My Citibank MC cannot go through at around 6 to 7pm. Not sure if the Maybank terminal problem, MC network or my Citibank CB MC CC.

QUOTE(ixole @ Jan 28 2012, 11:34 PM)
my case:
1-15th jan i spent RM3k on my cc then i paid full on 16th jan.
24th jan i spent another RM3k.. but only paid minumum amount required RM200. Will i get interest charged if not paying the balance after my due date? not sure how's the concept works. I had experience cant swipe both of the cc when my statement was out, after that i paid the minimum amount required then can use back my cc..
*
What is your statement date? If your statement date falls before 24th January, then it'll appear in the next bill cycle. No interest will be charged even though you didn't make the min amount payment for this transaction.

If your statement date is after 24th January, the transaction made on 24th will be counted in this bill and you have the obligation to clear by the due date given. Otherwise, interest will be started to be imposed on the outstanding even min amount is paid.

It depends on whether the transaction has been posted in the current bill or not because some merchant may not as efficient as others.

My statement date is 12th january.my due date is 1th february..
I thought any purchase before 12th january will be counted in the bill and i must pay the balance..
and  any purchase after 12th january will be counted in the next bill cycle? correct me if i m wrong, kinda blur rclxub.gif
*
Statement date is 12th January and your transaction date is 24th January.

Any swipes made and posted by 12th January will be counted in the current bill and have to clear by 1st February.

Any swipes made after 12th January will be billed in the next statement. No need to pay any amount until the bill ready by 12th February.

Sorry for the lengthy confusion.

guys ..

I am about to buy a laptop from my company as employee purchase... the sale person is from Penang and I in Selangor .. We are communicating via Email... He requests me the details as well as credit card (Amex)... Is this safe or standard procedure requesting my credit card details?

From my thinking, he can buy anything he wants with my card details if he wants ... Argh! ..
*
It's more toward ethical matter. Does the sales person from a trusted vendor of your company?

do we need to call CS to activate this sms transactions alert?

By right no need. But until today none of swipes got any alert. Perhaps haven't reach the predefined threshold.

guys, need to get (basic) clarification regarding BT.
if i wanna do BT from this card to other bank, do i need to have that bank's credit card.
example; BT from maybank to CIMB, need to have CC from both MB and CIMB, or MB's only is enough?
thanks.
*
Of course both.

You want to transfer outstanding balance from one CC to another CC in order to enjoy longer repayment period at low interest fee.
