Take both. smile.gif Your utilities bill amount is substantial according to you. Bear in mind for OCBC Titanium, you earn nothing back after you reached the monthly RM50 rebate cap.

Pay utilities using OCBC TItanium. If you purchase anything over the weekend, put MBB2 Amex as 1st priority. If can't be used at the merchant, then use OCBC Titanium since it is giving at least 1% cash back.

If going overseas, put MBB2 Visa/Mastercard as 1st priority due to its lower foreign exchange rate.

The RM50 X 2 = RM100 service tax can be easily earned back.
*
if utility bill is "substantial" for the usage, I don't think his/her usage will be very much.. it will become a "loss" to her considering the gst from both cards.. therefore I would suggest her to take the most convenient card..

To me if the amount is negligible, then it is not much. if it is substantial, it means quite an amount to pay for.

You think of the savings you get every month more than enough to cover back the GST la  doh.gif

FYI, Maybank2Card just use 10,000 TP to offset the GST (about RM2500 if you swipe with Amex only since 5x TP)

OCBC requires RM10,000 per annum usage which is slightly harder. But if you were to max out your RM50 cash rebate every month most likely you'll be spending that amount too.
*
correction, amex just need to swipe rm2,000 to redeem/cover the gst.

redeem on-the-spot rates still same like before. i thought the points lower laugh.gif

for kfc rm30, redeem at maybankard center less 1k points, mcd rm10 less 700 points brows.gif

same goes to carrefour voucher actually, redeem+pos for rm50 is 11k points, but on-the-spot can redeem rm10 for 2k, so total 10k points only. besides me myself prefer voucher in rm10 domination than rm50 smile.gif

Added on October 17, 2011, 10:03 ambut last time went to maybank pudu carrefour rm10 no stock sweat.gif

Need to confirm something here

If my statement date is on the 18th, which mean my payment due date is on the 9/10.

Let's say my statement amount is RM1000 (all using Amex during weekend), next month will rebate RM50. So for my payment I can pay RM1000 or RM950? of course besides the amount after that there's still some outstanding amount from post statement date.

Thanks for the advice in advance.

since the statement date is, say 18th OCT, the RM1000 amount is now the statement amount you need to pay. but because the cash back will be credited in the 1st or 2nd NOV and this counts as a payment too, when paying, (before 9th NOV), just pay RM950...

I can CONFIRM you can pay RM950 as the rebate posted is considered as Payment. Did that for the last few payment cycle without any late charges/interests
