I renewed my car insurance with Etiqa yesterday using MBB2 AMEX yesterday through phone. The agent requested for my 4-digit CID number to be given. Is this normal?

I just give them AMEX card 15 digit numbers only.

You should demand they change the voucher immediately (if you don't intend to use immediately)
I got a free gift when the CS staff chop the wrong date (7-day expiry instead of 1-year expiry)

I change Parkson voucher when about to use at the time of redemption...  brows.gif  icon_idea.gif

yes. if u shop at 1U, just go to customer service to change. 9300TP for RM50 vouchers. Last month saw one guy changed 20x RM50 parkson vouchers there

i live in a small town in soviet sarawak, so no big branch

this one has no private banking facility,  wink.gif
on the contrary - it was the KL card centre who send the mail asking me for my FD

the manager advised me against the FD,

sibu.

the problem is i have a super clean credit history. which means *nada*

no history of loans... no records of repayments performance

so since CCRIS and CTOS don't have my profile, they want me to pledge a 15k FD for a 15k limit credit cards

seems to beat the purpose, doesn't it?
*
just apply for it. no need fd placement. as long as you meet their requirement, should be no problem

I think i just found a way to make some cash back from the card, and Maxis users.

Maxis M Money

Anyone heard before?
Its an electronic wallet (failed one actually) a joint project between Maxis and Maybank (and Old Town White Coffee), back 6 years ago.

Anyway back to it....
Looks like you can Cash-In (reload) using credit card (MBB 2 Kard) either via Maxis MASA, or e-Pay merchants..
And then you may use the credit to either pay for Maxis/Hotlink bill or option to Cash-Out at Maxis MASA Centre..

Lets count the costs..
Cash-In via e-Pay = 0.5% fee of Cash-In amount or Min RM.050 for each transaction
Cash-Out directly to Bank Account = RM0.15/transaction

So with weekend 5% cash back + 5x TP earning - RM0.50 (for RM100) = earning cash back roughly RM7.

Can also opt to Cash-Out at Maxis MASA, not sure got charges or not..

looks like a good idea to earn side income, anyone tried it already ? not sure whether they allow topup using credit card or not

Techically, as requirements from BNM all credit cards issued will be charged RM50 GST.
And its the same with Maybank 2 Kard. Just that Maybank is offering auto/free waive for Amex (or either one) of the card.
If u check ur statement u will see both cards actually charged RM50 but one of them will automatically credited.

And yes canot cancel either 1 must have both, that is the condition for the RM50 GST thingy.
