Pongteh ayam? I'm a peranakan, and an ex chef, and chicken and pongteh should NEVER be used in the same sentence. It should always be pongteh babi! tongue.gif
Well, unless we need to cater for our muslim friends lah.

BTW, chuakz, Cafe Box? I'm looking forward to check it out! brows.gif

Recently got to try Nancy's Kitchen @ Jonker. Quite alright, even price wise it's not too touristy. Got pongteh babi there.

Nancy's Kitchen is situated on the road (Jalan Hang Lekir) off Jonker Walk, where you turn into the street from Geographer Cafe. Middle of the row, and open from 11.30am or so onwards.

Their main entrance. Very traditional way of the design.

Sambal Sotong Petai @RM24.00
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - It looks very spicy. Actually Nyonya food brings more sweetness in their food rather than spiciness. I am not a Petai (Parkia Speciosa) lover so this dish is not really my type.

Overall: 3/5 - Have you eaten paku pakis before which is known as Psilotum in English? It is a very rare to eat. If you got the opportunity to see it in the menu, do not hesitate to order. Because it tastes so nice and delicious!

Overall: 3/5 - Very bad steamed tofu because it is quite hard and not soft. Maybe this the Nyonya way? Sorry if it is but I am not fancy to eat hard steamed tofu.

Chicken Satay @RM18.00
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - I love the satay gravy. One thing I find it quite weird which is chicken in Nyonya style is quite hard and very difficult to chew. Seems like they are using an old chicken. Is this normal?

Cendol @RM3.00
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 3/5 - My uncle said their cendol entered a contest and won 2nd best cendol in the whole Malaysia. The 1st place won by a restaurant in Penang. Not really sure where it is. I love Cendol in Melaka because they are using a very unique gula melaka or called brown sugar which you will not able to taste in any other state in Malaysia. As for this cendol, it is very delicious but I feel the cendol is slightly hard. Not very soft to chew on. The price is really frightening for a very small bowl of cendol.

Ambiance: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Food Serving Speed: Moderate
Recommended?: Yes, for cendol too.
