Hi, my house is currently renovating and they have drilled holes in the ground around the house for termite control.
But is there a way to eliminate ants and cockroaches ? My house really has a lot of ants and roaches before renovating, and since its undergoing renovations, i thought i wanna take extra measures to prevent this problem.
So any ideas?

yeah i'm planning on doing that.
I've seen those pest control do their magic. its nothing magic if u ask me.. They inspect around the premise, and spray here and there. And chow. All that for a few hundreds.
If so, I can do that as well. So yes, i plan to DIY.
Any specific racun or store to visit for pest control?

If they drill hole and do termite control, the chemical will also deter ants and some other insect come in.

if you want to get rid of roaches and ants this is how you can do it:
1) ensure the ceiling to roof is tightly closed- no cracks; manholes sealed
2) ensure all (!) windows are totally sealed and have zero gaps when closed.
3) all entrance doors need to have a all-around seal too that will close tightly. lockset without crawlway
4) make sure exhausts are sealed when not in use (not just shutters)
5) all water outlets must be either closed, carry a net seal or a trap to prevent roaches from getting in the house
6) all aircond piping must be sealed where exiting the house
we have done it and for the past 5 years i have not seen or noticed and roach (one got trapped before in the cooker hood, installed a mesh net at the exit, case closed) and exactly one trail of the tiny ants (they came through a crack in the wall left behind by the plumber when doing the kitchen sink).

TS, drill hole treatment is for termite only. But it is still not 100%. Coz some times termite can fly into a house and start doing nesting, especially at roof truss area. Roaches can be prevented by spraying the chemical around your house, do in at every 3-4 months time.

da best time for having da treatment for pest control is da tme dat u having da renovation process... thre hav 2 steps... 1. spread the chemical all over da land to prevent any insects like ants, cockroaches, etc.... 2. making a specific hole to make a drilling process to prevent termites under da ground... da steps above cost u a different price of treatment... so u need to survey n always alert for da warranty dat da company offer... do see my page... http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2046513&hl=gud luck n cheers bro... i thought i shared with you guys what i did. its not that complicated. problem is that normally houses are too open with endless cracks. if you renovate with that in mind and close all entry points you'll end up pretty safe. mind you we life on an old rubber plantation and there are tons of ants in the garden - they just cant get in
