for CIMB, is there a debit card that is free or just RM8 annually?

mine is charged RM15/year, seems a little wasteful for a card that I just use sparingly.

Yes, BSA, free of charge.

went to their website & looks like I can open BSA online.

Will they courier the debit card to me or is it optional & had to request?

Do you know how the card looks like?

I'm not sure as I opened mine a couple of years ago in a branch. Mine is just a generic CIMB card: https://www.cimb.com.my/en/business/busines...mastercard.html

This is something that kinda confuse me.

From this page, it's mentioned that CIMB debit card has RM15 annual fee.

https://www.cimb.com.my/en/personal/help-su...ebit-cards.html

If I open the BSA I will be issued with a debit card, right?
So why the fee above does not apply? Since it is a VISA/Mastercard debit card.

Sorry, just want to get all clear before I apply for the account.

Thanks for your input

I think better you go to branch and request for a BSA (1), you only need to pay RM 20 to open that account and whatever debit card they give you, you just take.

Most of the banks have BSA and don't require any fees as well, all are issued with debit cards. I have with PBB, HLB, BIMB and CIMB.

Alright, will give it a try.

Another question regarding debit card, not just CIMB but rather in general.

When it's time to charge a debit card it's annual free, what will happen if the balance at the time is not sufficient or zero?
Will the bank try again later, or it will be waived for that year?
