QUOTE(AIYH @ Oct 11 2016, 10:54 PM) Thanks for the announcement RamjadeLooks like going to close down true account and open BSA liao Anyone know if there is any charges in closing and opening a no fee BSA like is ther any replacement fee or issuance fee? Let's see how are they going to charge me with only RM0.11 inside. Will withdraw all and close account in december when I come back. I have no need for Truesavers anymore actually since getting standard chartered Just One (free IBFT). Just keeping it because it's free. Thanks poor man, will close account. Let's hope the exodus will cause some "damage" to them. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Oct 11 2016, 11:02 PM

Scb jumpstart debit card sucks. Top-up account cause wanted to pay USD160+, told me insufficient balance. Amount I have was RM900. will try again in the future.
Another side note, max transaction with SCB jumpstart card is RM6k/day.

QUOTE(moonsatelite @ Apr 2 2024, 11:47 AM) GXBank too doesn't have markups for overseas foreign transactions nor does it even have withdrawal fees for ATM cash withdrawals QUOTE(Mr Gray @ Apr 2 2024, 11:58 AM) Yes same as SCB Jumpstart I saw gxbank USD charges different than XE. XE was 4.71, GXbank charge 4.74. I need to test further.

QUOTE(Mr Gray @ Apr 3 2024, 09:02 AM) That's interesting. Let us know your finding. As always we can't really trust these banks. Need to test on our own Just like Maybank MAE zero foreign markup, but in actuality still got charge. Not so soon test again. But I am getting gxbank for cukai taksiran and local council bills. Haha

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Apr 3 2024, 12:25 PM) You are mistaken! https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5416294Should use TNG Visa or Bigpay Visa, still can get some reward points. Why am I mistaken? They said 1% cashback off everything. TnG and bigpay got nothing since now they start charging credit card user.

QUOTE(am3 @ May 23 2025, 11:32 PM) Any suggestion for a good debit card to link with paypal account? To pay for some subscription services. Need something that is not digital bank only. Standard charter jumpstart. Make sure to always pay in the country currency and not in ringgit. If you pay in ringgit, they will use PayPal conversion rate which is very lousy. QUOTE(sjz @ Jun 2 2025, 08:21 AM) yes indeed. and the worst thing is there no option for you to opt out. for eg. maybank which is very kind to offer an option for you to choose no annual fee but limited time of cash withdrawal (4 times per month), subsequent RM0.50/withdrawal. Got. It's called Cimb free basic savings account. It's a damn hassle to open as Cimb will try to bluff you that it isn't there at all. I have been using Cimb free basic savings account and didn't pay them anything for donkey years. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Jun 2 2025, 11:26 AM

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jun 2 2025, 12:33 PM) A lot of banks have BSA la. I got it from HLB, PBB, CIMB and BIMB. For Maybank, initially they will charge me RM 8 but I walked in to a branch to cancel that and they helped me to remove it, never paid anything annually. Yes by law they are supposed to have it but Cimb is the only one that I noticed like refuse or make it hard for you to open one.
