I'm a foreigner (European) coming often to KL for holidays (I love your country guys!).
To my (bad) surprise, when I came back this time, I found out that Maybank prepaid ManU card had some policies changed.
Among those: 1) Cannot withdraw deposited money (Why??) And 2) I'm not able to make deposit on my card!
Until last August I simply went to CDM or ATM/CDM and follow the usual procedure. Now it seems that can deposit only on CDM machines and... They're discontinuing it!!!
Their suggestion? Ask to some Malaysian friend to transfer to your card and you give cash to him.
Not really professional...
So here I am with a card I paid for and.cant use... Arrgh.
Any suggestions?

The next time you're here, goto their branch and demand they refund the money to you. Or request to speak to the branch manager if they are not helpful enough.

Thanks. There's no mention about changes in deposit procedures though.
And an email would have been more useful as people don't happen to visit Maybank website.every each other day...

If you haven't load any money into the card, then cybpsych has already given you the answer.

You were saying that you can't withdraw deposited money.....

Don't expect too much as Debit card's interchange fee is very low (0.21% or MYR 0.70 + 0.01%, whichever is lower).
Also, Debit card issuer don't make money from CC interest and Balance Transfer.

You may consider this Debit card
https://www.pbebank.com/Personal-Banking/Ca...ebit-Cards.aspx

Most of the debit cards don't give you any rebate or reward points.

I heard about this when I was in Singapore late last year and walked past a RHB in Jurong that was pushing this card.

Good to know it's here in Malaysia, but guess I'll wait and see...

True to that. Actually aside from your suggested PB RCB MC DC, I am also considering:
1. UOB MC DC - how is their $MART points compared to PB VIP points?
2. RHB Premier VI DC or their normal DC - 1% cashback with annual fee (standard first year waived) for Premier and 0.5% cashback for the rest debit cards.
3. Kuwait FH Visa DC - 0.5% cashback but free for life

I am leaning to UOB but would love to hear from the gurus here.

I am holding UOB Debit MC not because of the reward scheme, I never look into the SMART program. I like E-Account and occasionally play the 10% rebate game and get discount (apply UOB code) at Shopee.

I am holding CIMB-Lazada Prepaid MC which gives me 1% (Lazada) / 0.5% rebate, but the rebate amount is now rounded down to the nearest RM since December.
