hd7 very good phone lo.

who says? look at the HTC Radar and Titan.. both have Wifi internet tethering.. only phones that are naturally WP7 that are updated to WP7.5 does not have it as it's hardware based...

it's like saying why my 7 Mozart does not have front camera after updating to WP7.5... of course it doesn't, it's hardware based....

Oh...so it's depend on hp model.

Does anyone having problem with notifications (live tile and toast) on Rowi and Birdsong apps (PAID) and Foursquare as well?

yup.. 4sq for me.. after the update i could get the nearby check-in toast message, but now no more...

not as simple as that... u have to subscribe to the Malaysian Holiday calendar.. like evilpuppy said, login to live.. then navigate to Hotmail, at the dropdown menu choose Calendar..

there, on the left side u will see several check-boxes, uncheck the America Holiday.. then click the subscribe link above the Month tab..

here's where it gets a bit tricky.. if u choose find holiday calendar, there u could find Malaysia Holiday (either in BM or English).. but it's not complete, and the English version is empty..

so, i would recommend u to choose "Import from an ICS file".. u could download the file here,

then upload the file to Live Calendar.. click Import Calendar and check the box for your new calendar..

one final step, go to your settings on your phone, at emails+accounts, just press and hold Windows Live, wait for the popup and click sync...

now ur done, enjoy your new detailed Malaysian Holiday Calendar...

only the newer WP7.5 phones have Internet Tethering and front camera, but not all..

What bugs?

Yeah Birdsong live tile and notifications are not working for me. Waited for over 24hours already, guess it's safe to say it doesn't work at all?

Some bug I encountered with Mango:-
1) Keyboard. In the middle of typing, the keyboard disappear.

2) Bing. I can only see 2 icons (Vison & Voice). Based on some screen capture, I can see 4 icons.

3) Battery. Charged my phone for more than an hour but the bar remained stagnant. Reboot my phone and it still show the same. Shut-down phone, remove battery and boot-up again. Battery bar show almost complete.


WhatsApp bug:-
1) When I tapped a contact under Chats, it tend to hang and kick you out to Home screen. 2nd attempt normally works.

is anyone facing intermitent network problem?
to solve it, i have to restart the device.

According to xda, It isn't even a hardware limit at right.
It simply a marketing gimmick by ms to ensure the 2nd batch wp7 can sell.

Iirc, there is a way to enable it on most 1st batch wp7, except dell venue pro.

Point 1, I noticed that sometimes with my Mozart. Not a major issue for me.

Point 2, it's based on region if I'm not mistaken.

Point 3, I've never encountered such problem.

As for whatsapp, yes, it's buggy but it's hardly MSFT's fault.

yeah, read bout that too.. but there's also an article in there if i'm not mistaken that clearly shows the chip, which indeed does not support tethering... the newer wp7.5 devices uses a different chip... let me dig around...

I believe what we need is a driver, be it official or 3rd party...
If a low end HTC WILDFIRE can do it, I don't see why a high end(that time) can't....

the keyboard thingy yes i do notice that sometimes .
the connection seems fine on my side .
whatsapp is 3rd party apps .
nothing related to MS .
cant blame the phone for the apps being lag .

I'm using HD2 Mango RTM 7720.68.

I encounter none of the problems you said, except for the WhatsApp which I never use...
