You guys want a longer battery life? I'll give you a tip.

TURN OFF 3G.

- 3G doesn't bring anything onto the table for voice, in fact, since 3G signal strength is usually weaker than GSM, it's usually WORSE!
- When you're in an area that's weak with 3G, your phone spends more power trying to flip between GSM and 3G.
- 3G transmissions consume more power by nature, ie. talking 1 min on 3G might consume the same amount of power by talking 5 min of GSM

That's why I turn off 3G unless I know I need to go online... FAST. tongue.gif

If you do voice only calls, GSM is much better for it. power efficiency wise.

But if you have a heavy need for data and video calls, yeah, can't disable 3G. But a lot of people who are just normal users dont know that turning off 3G extends battery life by a lot.

Well, it cannot be fixed. Problems is within IE9 rendering. I've confirmed it with a PC on three different browsers. As expected, webkit wins.

Go to touch.facebook.com.
See blank page.
Press the globe, nothing happens .
Press the left most button, search pane appears.
Press refresh... Everything appears!

Bro, no 3G just means the line isn't super fast. EDGE is actually quite usable to get things moving around.

It's not just about rendering. The page is supposed to be using HTML5 (I guess), so it should just *WORK* on browsers with HTML5 support, ie. IE9, IE10, etc. etc. But of course, now it just seems to be stuck in the "I feel like working now" more for IE9/10.

Even my laptop's Google Chrome browser is still using the old Faccebook touch, maybe Facebook just haven't updated the server for Malaysia. It's like the Hotmail improvement, it's not immediate but will roll out gradually.

I believe so too. and it takes ages to load WhatsApp on my Omnia 7.
And sometimes in WhatsApp, the connection to the WhatsApp server just stops and you need to restart the app / reboot the phone.
Worst of all, I need to reboot my phone almost everyday or else the push notifications won't work for WhatsApp.
I think I'm almost on the brink of giving up WhatsApp for WP7. rclxub.gif
