It's from a dead body although I can't really remember where. But it will be in your inventory if you have looted everything you see along the way. Try the door, if it unlocks then you have the key. Failing which, I hope you took the Master Key gift lol.

The boar area has a gate which is usually locked in some videos I watched but for me it was open LOL. So I didn't need to go down the stairs.

There is NO region lock for Dark Souls. However, if you're looking to coop with a particular person you're out of luck mainly because Dark Souls uses "mini servers", think of it as channels in an MMO. Basically you get put into random channels whenever you play the game online. So if you're looking to play with a friend, it may take up to 2 hours just trying to see each others soul signs. Also there is a 10% level gap which you need to be within for you to coop with someone else.

For anyone who is interested in Co-Op I am suggesting that they do this, both players join Way of the White and see whether they are able to see the other player's summoning sign or not.

Lots of demand. They underestimated the demand. The 2nd batch that just got reprinted are all out of stocks also. Few days ago Bookdepo restocked but not it's gone.

Futurepress says there should be more at the end of the month. They are currently doing a 3rd print.
