Hi Bro and sis,

I am a degree holder with about 9 years of working experiences at the moment. I am thinking to study part time MBA. Due to constraint on fees, i am quite interested with OUM after reading the thread here, on Master of Project Management. It takes 2 years to complete with cost RM20,040.

Anyone can advice if this course is recognised and accredited ?
Does it offer online study only? any class room or discussion needed among the teams?
Is it good to take MBA with OUM?
Any other better alternatives to suggest?

Any advices for me on the seection?

Thnk you very much !

Most employers looked for degrees recognised by MQA/JPA (aka by Malaysian Govt). Most OUM programmes already accredited & recognised by MQA/JPA.

Of course, OUM caters for working adults only, which means 99.999 percent of its students are already working, so no problem for employment after graduation maaaa ...

Master Project Management already received full accreditation by MQA. Check out this link http://www.oum.edu.my/oum/v2/accreditation.html

OUM offers both. One is blended mode of learning with weekend classes (twice a month) & online learning with self study. Second option would be 100% online learning & self study without tutorial attendance (get 10% discount on tuition fees).

Quite OK lah. Still not easy to pass mah ....

Wawasan Open Uni or Asia e-University.

Yes. Already got accreditation from MQA & recognised by JPA.

As being said, OUM served the working adult market. Most employers in private sectors actually encourage their staffs to pursue MBA programmes as long as the programmes are recognised by MQA/JPA/

From scuttle butts, if those in public sector, most of 'em OUM MBA grads already got promoted from DG41 to DG48 lah. In private sectors, most went up the managerial level lah.

3 1/2 years (aka 3 years 4 month = 10 semesters). Yes, it is quite long, because the dip prog are part time basis.

You're looking at the age range of working adults in Malaysia .... basically from age 21 to even 50 yrs old in the class. Generally though, in a class most of the time, within 23 to 45 yrs old students lah.

That depends. If you've relevant & recognised Dip, you may shortened duration of study from 4 1/2 years to 3 or 3 1/2 years (based on exemptions - ranging from 1 - 1 1/2 years).

Well, OUM does offers MIT, and learners may choose to specialise either in IT Management OR Networking. During the final semester, learners have option either to opt for Master's Project OR taking two elective subjects.

It does costs quite a bit, but for postgrad students who are working in private sector may apply for MyMaster education assistance (under MyBRain15 scheme) and also can withdraw EPF Account 2.

If you're looking for flexibility and added value of having a related postgrad cert alongside with your current work experience, then OUM may be a good choice, although you may also consider other options such as WOU, AeU and other IT postgrad PJJ courses (Pengajian Jarak Jauh) as offered by IPTAs.

Some of my friends are not recognized by empoyers, because they do not have diploma.
I know that many international students are scared with overseas educational system. They do not want to study Many of them did not hear about service that give personal coursework help support to their clients. They offer you consultancy and s in all education related issues. With their help you will definetely get a diploma and then will be hired by the company you dream about
