Hi, pls help!

I am staying at usj area, I need to do some minor renovation for my house, as just change the current fencing( since day 1 by developer) into a wall, and also hacking the car porch and do a proper tiling.

Do I need to get approval from Mpsj on this minor renovation? as I know, I do not need any plan since I m not disturbing the main structure of the house.

How about the waste generated?

Any contractor out there can recommend to settle the solid waste?

Just contact those tong sampah (bin) suppliers. They deliver the empty tong to your house. After say 10 - 14 days, they come and take away together with your accumulated construction waste. tongue.gif

Yes u should get one, and if your contractor doesnt supply one then just go enquiry from MPSJ..
They are counted per day if not mistaken...

Counted per day will be expansive.
Take those count by trip is cheaper.

If you are not applying for the permit, no need to get the tongs from Alam Flora. Can get from those outside supplier. Very much cheaper. smile.gif

Here is what i think based on my experience and may differ from what MPSJ may require but i hope it helps.

With regards to hacking your existing floor & changing your floor tiling, you don't need to get approval from MPSJ as its only cosmetic. With regards to changing your fence to a wall which does not exceed 5ft, you also don't need any real approval as it within the guideline.

However, if you need to rent a tong for throwing waste from your renovation, you will need a permit. Why? Because your tong will have to be placed outside your house by the side of the road.

Since you'll need a permit to place the tong there, might as well get approval for changing your fencing into a wall. This will ensure that your contractor follows specifications (i.e. building a ground beam if required) to ensure your wall doesn't experience cracking caused by sinking. It's not really difficult to get approval for changing your fence to a wall and for placing a tong outside your house.

Also, if you're close to your neighbours, just inform them of your plans and who knows they may have some advice if they've done the same before. Hope that helps.
