I noticed that most new x box set now is the 4 GB version. Is this sufficient to use if I do not intend to buy anything from XBLA marketplace? or if its better for me to get the 4 GB one and then get separate HDD? Thanks.

Yup. But having a bigger hard disk space will help you reduce loading time a lot.

Plus you can just download any demo game you like from marketplace, of which mostly sized at GB scale.

btw you can always add the hard drive later on.

if cant find 250gb version then buy a new hdd for your 4gb. i not sure bout slim as i owned a fat model but game install is a must for me. save data and patches is not big,but xbl games,demo,video and game install Will suck your space.Attached Image

This unit actually makes me drooling. Too bad can't play here and don't have so much money to play.
