You can just ask your contractor to box it up.

yeah, you may ask the architect to include it in your kitchen cabinet measurement and hide it inside

Or, you can paint it and then hang something light on it. Make it a decoration.

QUOTE(kamion @ Sep 22 2011, 05:49 PM) Yes, but what type of material should they use? They can cover using wood but I also want it to be able to open up easily to check on water leaks. I am not sure if it is ok to do a box using material used in making plaster ceiling? Is plaster ceiling material more expensive than wood? |

If you plan to do kitchen cabinet, than can ask them to hide it with flexi type door.
If you use plaster ceiling, than get a 1feet mainhole cover. |

TS, if you don't intend to have your kitchen cabinet to reach the ceiling, then the only option is to box up.
You could get your plaster ceiling guy to do that. Or get the furniture guy to do a box up with a removal panel that is fasten with screws. That way, you could remove the panel if the need arises. Paint the box up the same colour as the ceiling/ wall. Then it will not be noticeable. |

See attached pic for the height of the kitchen cabinet. The idea of putting some decorations above the cabinet to block the pipe is a good and inexpensive idea This post has been edited by itanium2: Sep 23 2011, 04:43 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(itanium2 @ Sep 26 2011, 03:23 PM) Building a cabinet up to the ceiling will help to cover it but how often will you use the topmost cabinet since it is located so high up? Example: Normally the hight are from 5-7feets, top additional 1-2 feets and rest covert with hood where same colour like the cabinet...My ceiling almost 10ft and I do not find it practical. This is one of the suggestion I getting from the KC sifu... It will make better view instead of a blank wood from 7 to 10 feets |

Yea, thanks for the idea but since the pipe is not very long, I will just hang some decorationsThis is one of the suggestion I getting from the KC sifu... It will make better view instead of a blank wood from 7 to 10 feets to make it less obvious. Not covering it also make it easier to spot for water leaks. |
