An Officer from 123 just called me to inform about this new service to help user check their data usage and options to add data with less expensive rate.

You can now buy additional 1GB at RM10 for 3 days and 1.5GB at RM25 for a week. This is better than RM2 for an hour and RM8 Daily from previous service.

You can create a new contact for this number without having to remember or dial again.

THE NUMBER *136*9#

If your iphone always on data (YM, FB, Tweeter, Youtube) i suggest you check your data regularly (option 3) and add when needed the RM10 per GB is a good choice (option 1) . Cheaper than any other data from Ivalue package in my opinion.

I think....

If you have NO data plan. 1 sen/KB. So GB will cost you RM10,000.00. There is a very rich person in this forum considering that as insignificant ohmy.gif

If you have data plan and exceed. 0.5 sen/KB. So 1GB will cost you RM5,000.00. Yes, Five Thousand Ringgit.

Oh....one more thing. Even if you have Maxis data plan and you use 1GB of roaming data in Singapore, guess how much would it cost........RM30,000.00. A heart stopping Thirty Thousand Ringgit.

So don't play-play. If you don't know how to do setting, better use a dumb RM100 Nokia phone instead when overseas.

@suntzulee & Optiplex330,
If you're on an existing data plan, there's a RM250 limit cap on your bill for over usage.

Now that is a relief. I did not know there is such cap with Maxis. Thanks for telling.

All I previously know was, they charge 0.5sen/KB with data plan and 1sen/KB without. And roaming in Singapore is 3 sen/KB.

@Optiplex330,
Yes there is definitely a cap of RM250. So assuming you go above your 1GB allotment, U will be charged 0.5sen/kb but up to a maximum of RM250.

However, 1GB is a LOT - if you don't YouTube on the go (using 3G) U shouldn't need to worry about over exceeding your quota. I'm on a 500MB plan and to-date it's been suffice for me.

PS: I'd been on this plan for at least 2 years now.

Yes, Maxis charges RM5 per Mb so roughly it is RM5000+ per GB so better take this only at RM10 per Gb

This is why i think this is good at least for me:-

I use iValue 1 (obviously u can see the photo i posted) and for the past couple of days since my bill cycle date of 14th everymoth i hv used half a GB. (500MB+)

The next few days i will hit 1GB data fr Ivalue 1 package, maxis will send me sms notify twice that i have used 80% and 100%.

Once i received this and if i didnt do anything my data will be charged at RM5 per MB and supposedly until my next billl cycle i will definitely kena RM10000+ but NO, why? becoz my limit only RM200, once reached this limit (usually at RM250+) my line will be cut off until i make payment.

Now with this new service, i can buy more GB at RM10 per GB and use it for 3 days or less. and add again after 3 days until i reach my billing cycle.

So lets say i added 1GB X 5 times until my next cycle, i only pay extra RM50

My iValue1 now gives me 6GB data for only RM150

[Total = ivalue1 RM100 + top up RM50 = RM150 for (6GB incl 1Gb fr iV1)]

I know. I was on 500MB before and found I normally use 100MB only. So now I downgraded to 250MB only.

stop being sarcastic

if u got no data plan... i mentioned in that thread to call to CS and disable it

if u got data plan (and the right plan from whichever telco) and too lazy to navigate few secs to turn off the cellular data whenever u din use

i said dun worry because the movement of data while u lock ur phone is insignificant

i nvr once say the cost will be insignificant FYI

instead of being too proud of urself...i hope u can read and understand what i mean

b4 flaming me ok?

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Sep 21 2011, 10:19 AM)
as far as im concerned with....when i connected to wifi ...it will nvr connect to 3g...unless ur wifi signal or connectivity is too low

and bout data running behind ur back.... actually the data amount is very insignificant...so rest assured.... I rarely connect to wifi yet I still has a lot of data to be used even I got 3gb quota....rarely exceed 1gb except heavy tether

as for the alarm app ... the song option is gd...but just an add on if u can play own mp3 .... still not a downside of iphone in my opinion ...if u really wan ... just around RM3 u already can do it ... y bother? about plugging to the wall .... not sure which app u use...my app nvr ask me to plug into the wall ....

and voicemail problem.... im not sure..cos i will always pick it up withint 10-15 secs when 1st rings
maximum ringtone duration for iphone is around 30 secs...but if im not mistaken...there's some workaround

p/s" y ur phone is not inside ur pocket when u're in the office? more like to ur habit than the phone's disadvantage seriously

Added on September 21, 2011, 10:21 am

u can always turn cellular data off right in the setting

no longer a problem now....

last time u cant turn it off...if u no data plan...u need to cheat the Customer Service to terminate ur 3G or whatsoever

quoted for truth in case somebody accuse me for smtg that i nvr did
