QUOTE(kcng @ Oct 8 2011, 03:50 AM)
why increase employers EPF contributions now?
true in a way we get more money, but then again dont that ring some major alarm bells?
*country coffers going empty?*

and we all know from which sector that the contribution comes from
wink.gif
nope......
let me share my experience (in IT sector) with you.

sad to say, it is the skills of those so call "engineers" nowadays that is not worth mentioning...
rather i should say, it is the attitude of the grads nowadays that is not worth mentioning at all...

1st problem, they cant communicate well. they cant even write or talk in english properly. even if given a chance to talk/write in their local language, they still cannot do it properly. if u cant communicate properly, how on earth are u gonna convince me to hire u?
u wanted RM 2.8k, u better show me u are worth RM 2.8k during the interview. not because u have a masters/degree in something means u are worth RM 2.8k the moment u show me those papers.

i have ppl with degree/masters in IT from many specific people only institution of higher learning, when interviewed, not only they dont know how to speak english, they cant write english properly (heck they even use short form english in the interview form) and best part is, they dont know basic IT.
those good ones from the same specific people institution of higher learning are being spotted and employed before they finish their course...

As for the the EPF contributions, LOL!! What have we got to lose? employers the one contributing mah. Be that as it may, u raise a good point though. LOL...well~~ THINK POSITIVE A BIT LA. hehehe...as for the coffers going empty, thanks to ur best frd, Mahaleel la. WHat else?

As for the salary in the private sector, kc again raise a good point. But the low salary in private sector remains a fact. I earn only less than RM500 per month now. I can earn in the region of 5 figures if i go Hong Kong. Heck, even singapore is better, if money is the main issue.

well, the employers can pay 1 percent more epf, then tell the potential employee that since epf rate so high, the salary will be slightly lower..... i think the gov needs epf money..... that's why....

in sg, fresh graduate's pay about sgd2k..... zaypher, u forgot to add another zero, is it?

hi maddie, how i wish that i have forgotten to add another zero tongue.gif
but nah, really rm500. After deduct everything from car loan, study loan, tax, epf, bills, savings....left only rm500. sad.gif
how to buy a house la like this? Well I reckon in another 3-4 years time la. RM5k salary only can buy a decent house me thinks.

With the way things are going, RM5k is like nothing in 3-4 years time since inflation keeps on increasing

for those who indulge in stealing others' tyre steel air cap. Why not you do your own self a favour by going to the nearest tyre shop, ask for some old unwanted steel air cap? Isn't it easier? Why want to take the trouble of committing an offence?
