You should try flashing the Franco kernel for ICS instead. after flashing ICS is much smoother

Clear everything, Full wipe/wipe dalvik/wipe cache

-install ICS rom in recovery
-install wifi patch to fix wifi issue in recovery

reboot

Done!

mount usb storage on cwm

when u at tthere mean is mount

when u go back mean unmount

so when u in there , u transfer the file 

Im not sure but im gonna assume so, im using this kernel on my ICS now and it works flawlessly.

How is it? ICS smoother? for me it was..im also a big fan of the soft keys lighting up when there is a notification

i successfully upgrade to ICS .. nice outlook .. smooth
