hi guys, some update. Over the past 2-3 weeks the facebook app have kept popping up as CPU hogger in my watchdog app, so I have uninstalled it, and switched to using the web based facebook full time.
1. the battery life seems improved, now when I reach home after work I am usually at green instead of yellow. 2. the facebook web let me see the notifications, messages, and updates in one page. 3. the facebook web doesn't cover up the pictures with comments 4. its slightly harder to share pictures in FB as I cannot share via Facebook, need to load browser and select from gallery from there. 5. the functionality in viewing pictures is limited, no zoom (there's download though), and there's no swipe to scroll (it became click on the left/right edge to scroll) I think I will still keep the FB app uninstalled for some time. QUOTE(TAGreptiles @ Nov 24 2011, 09:43 AM) Are you using your own mp3s or the built in ringtones? One thing I realise is that if I use my own mp3 (which I have normalized the volume), then it becomes too soft. Most of the built in ringtones are very soft also, the loudest is Ursa Minor which I am using it right now. When watching youtube and stuffs, you can put your hand slightly behind the speaker but not covering, it will sort of angle the sound towards you and make it slightly louder. |

Hey all NS users, are you guys using any tablet? I recently sampled the Galaxy Tab 10.1, 8.9 and 7 Plus, and the 8.9 WiFi version seems very attractive at 1299.
But on the other hand I worry that I will not have updates, since its not a Nexus Tab (like Xoom). |

Anyone of you using additional batteries or those charger packs? Its tough when I want to play games on my NS but scared to use up its battery causing me not able to call taxi when I arrive abroad.
Umobile just announced Tab 7 plus with the U28 plan which I am currently on!! Tempted.... Is Honeycomb/ICS really nice to use for that resolution? This post has been edited by kiwlm: Dec 1 2011, 11:18 PM |

Its coming, lol, here's a write up about hardware acceleration, hopefully with ICS the stock browser have much better performance.

QUOTE(HoNeYdEwBoY @ Dec 9 2011, 03:08 AM) I think its personal preference, you can do a fast comparison between iphone4 and SGS1/2 and see which one you think is better. The issue with SAMOLED is the pentile, which can cause the pixels to be blurry to some, I have this issue when I first got my SAMOLED NS, but after a while of use I got used to it. The SAMOLED in SGS2 is supposed to solve this issue in a way. Pentile also meant that the matte based SP is not suitable for the phone. Added on December 9, 2011, 11:05 am QUOTE(fcuk90 @ Dec 9 2011, 03:44 AM) The 10 cents deal is really attractive, I already bought like 6-7 apps with the 10 cents deal, too bad tetris cannot be installed in this country. This post has been edited by kiwlm: Dec 9 2011, 11:05 AM |

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Dec 9 2011, 09:29 AM) So far so good, I am quite surprised that the NS GPS can work thru some tinted films in the car as well. Before I got the NS, I nearly got the SGS1 but afraid of the GPS issues, but what I learned from the SGS1 community is that the later produced SGS1 also did not have the GPS issues anymore. |

QUOTE(phantz @ Dec 17 2011, 10:56 AM) hey guys, im still new about this You can try, the assert scripts will complain (like mine) if it couldn't update your phone.do i need to revert back to the stock 2.3.6 first to flash the official ICS manually? I will clean up my phone first, then update ICS, CLEAN CLEAN.... if you need the 2.3.6 flashable rom, get them here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1063664 |
