like my case , i m on 2.3.4 , i download the incremental update

to 2.3.6 on my backup stock rom , then straight root it with su zip put in your phone first ,so that u can use the rom manager

i backup my miui 1930 , then do recovery to my backup ( 2.3.4 )stock rom , flash the incremental 2.3.6 update , then flash su ( root ) , then flash custom kernel to prevent the recovery from auto reflash , ( in one shot , no reboot )
