QUOTE(System Error Message @ Feb 11 2018, 12:36 PM) Its not pure mikrotik, wheres the mikrotik AP and also a mikrotik AP with sim card slot and usb modem. Yeah you have to mix and match to make a full maximum usage of itYou can also bond ports between the AP and router and just do some configs to use less devices overall. 1. The Access Point use is Ubiquiti UniFi HD Access Point 4x4 Mimo :-) 2. Huawei E5186-22 for LTE A Gateway 3. Mikrotik Routerboard for hotspot Gateway and Controller :-) It works great |

QUOTE(soonwai @ Feb 11 2018, 01:46 PM) This one is in Botanica in Bangsar SouthQUOTE(System Error Message @ Feb 12 2018, 03:33 AM) with mikrotik, CPU usage matters only for bandwidth use and not number of users. So even one of mikrotik's indoor routerboard APs could handle hundreds of users which is something i've read from user experiences when used in halls with hundreds of people all at the same time. The netgear r7000 is another AP that can also handle hundreds at a time and not collapse. So this means you only need 1 device and QoS will also be fine if using 4G as the bandwidth isnt much to overload the wierdly interesting MIPS CPU it has unless hotspot proves too resource intensive. I mention this because i've also read about remote monitoring wifi networks powered by solar and batteries only that use these mikrotik AP (9xx) routerboards. Bro i play Mikrotik long way then you do :-) For Access Point this is the bestrange is also good on it too, has option for enclosure and external antenna. Combine one of their APs with a mini PCIe card for wifi to get a tri/quadband monster. My own personal setup is mikrotik as router with asus for wifi and raspberry pi 2/3 for other tasks that neither can do, and soon a repurposed desktop for IDS/IPS with mikrotik. Nothing beats UniFi AC HD AP for Access Point ( This is not normal consumer level for my setup ) 4x4 mimo radio support can support hundred of users This post has been edited by MX510: Feb 12 2018, 06:46 AM |

Mikrotik CAP AC
For those who want this router @ access point can place order here Mikrotik CAP AC Gigabit Controller Managed AP Integrated Dual Band & Dual Chain WiFi - 802.11b/g/n 2.4 Ghz and 802.11ac 5GHz All new ARM 4 Core 716 MHz CPU - IPQ-4018 2 x 1000Base-T Ethernet ports - Gigabit AP Built in 128MB RAM Level 4 RouterOS license 802.3at/af POE-in - supported Passive POE out on second gigabit port Up-to 26 dBm TX power The device comes bundled with two enclosures, so you can choose the design you like best. The cAP ac is a very capable and powerful wireless access point that looks beautiful on both walls and ceilings. The concurrent dual band wireless radio supports dual chain 2 GHz and 5 GHz in 802.11ac and legacy standards, and will provide coverage in 360 degrees around it. Even though the radio supports repeater mode, the two Ethernet ports give you the ability to extend your network with cables, even if PoE power is required, since the cAP ac supports 802.3af/at PoE input on the first port, and passive PoE output (up to 57V) on the second port. The cAP ac is a feature packed device with a sleek enclosure, that can become inconspicuous with the push of a button - the customizable mode button in the device center will turn off all lights and sounds at it’s default configuration, but can be reconfigured to launch any RouterOS script. The cAP ac is equipped with two Ethernet ports, allowing you to connect another device, to further extend your network. What’s more, the second Ethernet port supports passive PoE output (up to 57 V), so it can power a wide variety of RouterBOARDs and other devices, like IP cameras. In the following scenario, you can use a central hEX PoE device to power all your cAP ac units, and then have cAP lite units connected to provide even better coverage. The hEX PoE can even be used as a CAPsMAN server, so you can easily manage all your access points, and control all their settings in a single device. We sell cAP ac (International) 2412-2484MHz and 5150MHz-5875MHz range This post has been edited by MX510: Apr 17 2018, 07:42 AM |

QUOTE(soonwai @ Apr 23 2018, 07:14 PM) Advisory: Vulnerability exploiting the Winbox port Actually TM modem and router are alsovulnerable to this new modem comes with different default password with last 4 digit of mac addresshttps://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=133533 This is bad. For those who have Winbox open. Time to switch to Asus. There is a lot of attack on port 80 Do secure your router by setting a password on your Mikrotik router remove admin full access by set with different username and password In addition you can always Assign a different port IP -> Services -> www either disable or set different port |

QUOTE(rioven @ Sep 17 2018, 09:04 PM) Me also have problem wifi speed on hap ac2, TM tplink router (c5) is much consistent on wifi, on wired no problem. My test on Try again with fastrack enabled :-)1) samsung s9 - on c5 can reach 200++, hap ac2 around 160 2) laptop 1x1 ac wifi - on c5 around 140-150, hap ac2 around 110 Using ROS 6.42.7, bandwidth 80Mhz, without fastrack (but during speedtest, hap ac2 cpu utilization is around 25% iirc without fasttrack). p/s: might not right method because me rely only on speedtest, but 95% that tplink really beat hap ac2 wifi speed |

QUOTE(yushin @ Sep 19 2018, 04:18 PM) For those using Microtik routers on fiber, anyone using Microtik's own GPON ONY SFP module? I don't think TM or any other ISP allowed itI wonder how to persuade telekom to configure it from their side. https://mikrotik.com/product/SFPONU#fndtn-specifications I already check the GPON BTU only got your port capped speed on it and bridging for voip no other fancy config on it Anyway this was my project end of August and Early September using CRS-328 and sfp module |

QUOTE(soonwai @ Oct 9 2018, 05:50 PM) hAP AC is not very good. I definitely do not recommend using it as your main router and AP. I did some tests here, https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4658454, and CPU usage was 50% pushing 400Mbps from Ethernet to wlan. Tested with iPerf3, minimal config as an AP, no routing, and FastPath on. And it’s not cheap. NotedFor now, budget choices are: All-in-one: hAP AC2 but only 2x2 MIMO or router only: RB750Gr3 |

QUOTE(Dato @ Oct 10 2018, 04:14 PM) Greetings, Did TM adjust ur speed profile?I got "TURBO-ed" today, from 100 to 800Mbps. I use a hEX RB750GR3 as first point of connection after GPON. It is running CAPsMAN for a hAP AC2 (that is connected to the hEX and that I connect to via WiFI) and a number of cAP ACs and wAPs. Have tested connection via WiFi and CAT6 and speeds are equivalent. I have tried various combinations of FastTrack, FastPath and enabling and disabling PPPoE encryption. ~14% is the highest I have seen the CPU. 231Mbps down and 153Mbps down is the best result from a single test. I have seen the uploads over 230Mbps but the downloads were terrible at that time. Could anyone with a similar connection please point me in the right direction? Thanks. BTU which model ? |
