QUOTE(leezhijiang @ Jan 1 2024, 09:28 PM) I notice for my Unifi connection (using Mikrotik router). I have opened up access from 0.0.0.0/0 for port 80, 443 and winbox. Also I have setup OVPN, PPTP and L2TP server. Unfortunately, it seems I unable to connect to my Mikrotik router using Public IP. I can only be able to ping the address. At least for me, 80, 443 & 8291 (Winbox) not blocked by Unifi. There are no access records in the logs as well. I suspect that TM might have blocked certain range of TCP and UDP ports 22, 23 & 25 are blocked by Unifi. Last I checked was years ago though. maxiscool Last time I have the same problem with Mikrotik & ipv6. It works for awhile then it stops working. Could be hours or days.
The problem was because when Routeros gets a new ipv6 prefix, it doesn't deprecate the previous one. I solved this with a script which sets the previous prefix to a lifetime of 0 whenever there's a new prefix. You can verify if this is your problem by checking to see if you have multiple active Unifi ipv6 prefixes on your devices. This was fixed in one of routeros7 releases last year. I forgot which and I don't know if it works since I'm still using the script. This post has been edited by soonwai: Jan 2 2024, 10:48 AM |

QUOTE(maxiscool @ Jan 2 2024, 09:06 PM) One is fine. The problem only occurs when I have 2 or more. Force your router to get a different ipv6 prefix then see if you get the new prefix on your device. You should have 2 now. If everything is ok, the new prefix will have a valid lifetime, the previous prefix should have a lifetime of 00:00:00. |

QUOTE(go626201 @ Jan 6 2024, 07:48 PM) RB5009 should be enough. (But with 1.X-2X price compare to AX2 or AX3) Ya, RB5009 no problem. I usually run my Mikrotiks without Fasttrack anyway. If not urgent use, just wait for another 1-2 years for next gen of RB5009 which should be having more 2.5G port. (My guess only) And disable ipv6 until 2025,now ipv6 still not suitable for wide usage. ![]() https://ipv6.speedtest.net This post has been edited by soonwai: Jan 7 2024, 04:45 PM |

QUOTE(maxiscool @ Jan 7 2024, 09:04 AM) I did not test speed in particular but I have no issue for 500Mbps on default Speedtest, believedjust using IPv4. quanta Not surprising that RB750r3 can't do full speed 500Mbps. Previously I tested ipv4 with Fasttrack disabled, I could only get https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=90472244 Found my post. Not 650Mbps. Around 350Mbps. ipv4 https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=99470130 hAP ac2 around 780Mbps. ipv4 I also have ax2 and ax3. Maybe one day will do a test. Currently both using as AP. QUOTE(maxiscool @ Jan 8 2024, 07:40 PM) Update the diagram. The 500 actually is just for trunk the Internet to the switch, Unifi TV box is connected to the switch that is why 500 & 600 is trunk Cool. Your setup same as mine. Except I use number 50 for LAN. Had to trunk UnifiTV cause I only put in one cable to the living room.See if this is what you looking for? ... QUOTE(maxiscool @ Jan 9 2024, 07:25 PM) That what getting started with mikrotik. Just like kwss said, I like "hack" it to works and starting to tinker from there, if I understand VLAN that time, probably I will do same as you with 50. But now with kwss trick, seems do no need the vlan for trunk already. 50 or 10 doesn’t matter. Arbitrary number only. But this Vlan trunking saved my skin. Cos I only pulled one cable from upstairs, where the modem & router are, to downstairs where the TV, STB & switch are.Btw, does your IPv6 configuration works properly? Before Mikrotik I used Homeplugs to bring vlan600 down. Now I just trunk vlan50 (internet/LAN traffic) and vlan600 in one cable. ipv6 working ok here except the part where older RouterOS doesn't deprecate the previous prefix. I fix this with a script but read that newer RouterOS already does the deprecation. |

QUOTE(loonsave @ May 8 2024, 10:44 AM) ... I have RB5009 as main router (router, capsman, vpn) and ax3 (containers & 5Ghz wifi.) and ax2 (2.4 & 5Ghz wifi) as APs Not sure how a single ax3 would fare if everything is on it.I have few requirements for a wireless router, and wonder mikrotik hap ax3 fit into it or not. 1. Docker services, eg: HomeAssistant/Uptime 2. VPN services to Surfshark 3. Decent and stable wifi coverage for whole house 4. Split the 2.4G/5G SSID due to some smart home devices cannot connect to 5Ghz network 1. Docker so far working quite reliably. I have AdGuard Home, UptimeKuma and Lego on the ax3. Using a USB3 thumb drive for container storage. 2. Main RB5009 router set for NordVPN, VPN Unlimited and Zerotier. Seldom use the VPN though so can't say much about it. 3. I use ax3 and ax2 for 2-storey house. Coverage pretty good. 2.4Ghz active only on the ax2 for IOT and legacy devices. ax3 is 5Ghz only, covers back of the house (up & downstairs). ax2 covers the front (up & down) 4. Multiple SSIDs no problem. Can set to your heart's content. Before I got the ax3 & 2, I used Deco M9 Plus and then X20. Also tried TM's DLink for a week or 2 which was pretty good. Don't like and have never used Asus for many years already. This post has been edited by soonwai: May 8 2024, 03:48 PM |

Updated to macOS 15.0 on 2 x MacBook Airs and 1 x Mac mini and all unable to connect to Wifi. iPhones, iPads & HomePods updated to 18.0 are OK.
APs are hAP ax2 and hAP ax3 capsman managed by RB5009. All on latest stable 7.15.3. Will troubleshoot tomorrow. Update: • Turned off FT (Fast Transition) and the Macs connect again. No idea whose fault it is. • The Macs had no problem connecting to neighbour's wifi. One is Skyworth and the other one, I think, is DLink.
