It depends on your application. If you are a gamer best of to get premade Cat8. Extra length is better if you know how to
conceal it.
If you want nice and connection cat6a and you are not a gamer then cat6a is the best choice.
But if you want to enjoy internet to the fullest speed and respond cat8 is your bet.
1ms vs 3ms is very big diffrent for gamer.
Please show something to back up that Cat8 is more "gamer" suited compared to Cat6a?
If you are saying to conceal, how would you expect a contractor to conceal extra cable length other than to cut it to length? If you are running the cables by yourself, then sure, but how many people here exactly can do hacking work if they were to conceal cables and not just surface mount the casing?
Cat6a is designed to run up to 10Gbps at up to 100M, Cat8 is designed to run up to 25Gbps at less than 30M.
If you are saying that you have 25Gbps equipment in your own network, why not just run DAC/SFP+ fibre?
Do the quick math, Subtel's Cat8 is RM55.5 for 10M, 306M (Standard length for a spool) Cat8 would cost about RM1698.3 if you just buy without bulk pricing
For that price, I can buy a spool of Cat6 CMR from UBT for RM1020 and another spool of Cat6 from Schneider Electric for RM550, not exactly Cat6a but it can still run 10G up to 55M. How many people here have houses that has a vertical length of 55M?
Yes Cat6a can only do 500Mhz and Cat8 can do 2GHz. Does that make a difference in normal consumer usage? I beg to differ as I run just normal Cat6a cables for my 10GBe uplink to my switch, and I still get the same 20ms in games such as Valo/Apex
Sure, few Cat8 cables here or there is fine, but if you're telling me to conceal 100M+ of Cat8? That's just a waste of money in general
