Moppy, do you really think Greece can even escape from being a bankrupt? Seems that whether they default or not is just a rhetorical question.

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Sep 20 2011, 07:25 PM) I'm buying now because all seems pretty bearish including those bozos local analysts whom were all singing Teach them? Heh I think they are the ones expecting but feeding us bullshit to keep the hype up for them to sell off.la la tunes just back before Raya that KLCI will see 1600 after Raya.. what a joke. This downturn will teach them a hard lesson. |

QUOTE(mopster @ Sep 21 2011, 04:53 PM) red<flat<green I seriously hope they will stop increasing tax for these goods. It's a proven fact smokers don't stop due to costs, they just switch to cheaper or contraband stocks. At the end, legit companies lose and government coffers lose. Winners are illegal sellers and smugglers. my portfolio sux, so Red is nom, Flat is good and Green is bonus.... tyvm baqueen jiejie... from recent mkt reactions... i suspect there may be new rulings on: ~Changes to mortgage loan calculation, from gross to nett income. ~Tobacco/Ciggy Tax .. AFAIK there was no tax hike on tobacco and ciggy last year. The mortgage calculation is a good thing for the housing market, not a bad thing as so many people feared. Housing prices will be reigned in and stabilized. Zeti is a visionary. |

QUOTE(ken_ng @ Sep 22 2011, 02:42 PM) bro Greg, my situation is something like this: Capital preservation is always key in the case of highly volatile call warrant trading where you will ultimately lose all your investments if the timing is bad. Since all call warrants has some sort of lifetime attached to it. But for stocks which is built on stronger fundamentals, they might suffer depreciation but not complete loss. scenario A: i have 10k capital, and my loss is 2k now so i left 8k. scenario B: 1 have 10k capital but i earned 5k in previous years. and because of the red market i loss 2k. so u r not losing your capital. so these are the diference. So for stocks, the main reason for cut loss is to ensure your 'capital' as in your funds can be re-invested to the market at a more appropriate time to make a profit again. It does not necessarily mean your initial capital when you first started but instead your ability to continue the fight another day. If you did not cut loss, you might be in a less advantageous position (less funds) to re-enter a favorable trade in the future when the market is up. |

QUOTE(mopster @ Sep 22 2011, 02:51 PM) now is the time the mkt seprates the men from the boys If it makes you feel better, everyone else is also suffering the same fate. i hope my counters can continue to pay divvy... shrink from 7% to 5% also i dun mind.... anyhow i still feel miserable seeing paper losses... |

QUOTE(ken_ng @ Sep 22 2011, 02:56 PM) i'm holding PARAMON and they did pay 5c divvi recently. my abp is rm2.01 but now it is...haiz... Hmmm I can't say I can advise you one this because I'm not a firm believer in cutting loss. But since you're 100% in stocks I can understand the dilemma you're going through. Hope our forum sifus can help you come to a decision. But try not to make a panic decision.ya, this is the point that i'm wondering whether to cut loss and wait for a better chance to reenter the market. if i have extra bullets, i dont mind holding PARAMON since it's fundamental is not bad. |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Sep 22 2011, 03:40 PM) Just hope our stomach no twist enough. haha Come to think of it, KLCI did not really drop that much compared to regional peers. Although individual stocks might take a bigger hit or completely escape from it. |

QUOTE(panasonic88 @ Sep 22 2011, 05:00 PM) KLSE tumbled 2.2% in a day, so rare I have this weird feeling every time these bear times comes, though now not as strong a feeling as before.Remember today, feel the bear, don't be afraid of it, you'll grow stronger after all these thunderstorm is over. I thought it was butterflies in my stomach like when 1st time in love or running in a race, then I realised it was adrenaline in my veins or uncontrolled excitement. I like this feeling. |

QUOTE(teehk_tee @ Sep 22 2011, 08:11 PM) quite glad. whew I'm ok la, my stocks though need some loving. sorry bro since i started work i haven't had time to log onto lyn. Almost entered more OPCOM as my 2nd batch but held back due to bad sentiments, looks like I saved a few sens per share on that one. But the rest painful to see profit melting away. |

QUOTE(panasonic88 @ Sep 22 2011, 09:11 PM) /pat pat Yup, been through it in 2007/8 before already so quite immune. Already learned not to hold counters without stronger fundamentals, so this time the psychological effect is much lesser. What goes down, will come up. Just be strong & have faith on your holdings. That's the best we can do. /pat pat to you too pana. |

Today checking in late again and surprised yet again haha. Looks like this morning got a bit of panic selling before some recovery.
Today Friday I cannot buy ler... later weekend will be boring and stressed. I read someone was asking for a joke to lighten the mood. Here is one to share with your partner. "Researchers have concluded in a study among men that days starting with 'T' is the best time to have intercourse. Days such as Tuesday, Thursday, Triday, Taturday, Tunday etc." |
