2012 panney tv line up

for 65" plasma, the ST gives the best bang for the buck. i prefer VT bezel design and screen, but pricey drool.gif

not a sifu, but here r my inputs:

vt20 in 2010
vt30 in 2011
vt50 in 2012

u got the latest 2012 model, tho the gt50 is one rung below the flagship vt50, i think u got a good and better replacement. from what i read, the 2012 models have significant improvements over those produced in 2011 and 2010.

yes, vt50 is available in msia. saw display sets of 50gt50 and 65vt50. heard that supply for 65vt50 is low at the retailing shops as stocks are clogged up at logistic, waiting for release.

mb u can try to bugger them to give u a vt50. but most of the panney execs super super super busy oneeeee .. chase n chase n chase also no response ... im thinking of going back to samsung .. tongue.gif

happy dog, im biggrin.gif

looking fwd to its calibration after burn-in.

interestingly, hdmi2 has audio return channel capability, it can send digital audio out via an hdmi cable. thus, one can connect a new 3d bd player direct to the tv and use hdmi2 audio out to an older generation amp to play lossless codecs, nice.

Mind to share what is your viewing distance from the TV and opinion from your viewing distance?
*
my viewing distance is about ten feet, the bigger the better for me .. hehe. anyway, at nine to ten feet, the 65" does not overwhelm, in fact, it provides a very good pristine wow factor brows.gif and it is still very comfortable to watch at that distance. when the source of the pix (astro hd channels, mkvs & of coz, bluray) r good, the details r really superb.

Tried the PS3 3D gaming and Avatar 3D ?

HN slashing the price to RM16999 on today newspaper.  wink.gif
*
have not tried ps3 3d gaming yet. did not get the avatar 3d bd, as i bought dry, the tv + two 3d specs at an attractive price, zero freebies arrangement tongue.gif.

no 3d bd player or 3d bluray titles yet, planning to get the s790 from spore later. experimented with some 3d half sbs mkv files via wdtv & astro 838, 3d is not my thingy haha. for normal hd tv and movies, when the source is good the details r amazing thumbup.gif

the current astro olympics hd broadcast c842 for gymnastics is also very high quality, the details on the gals' jewels lined colourful leotards (at closeups & slowmo), the lighted floor against the darkened spectating crowds ... spectacular!!

Hi, could someone please advice if the P50ST50 support keyboard and mouse?
*
actually, u don't need a separate keyboard & mouse, most new tvs have ios and android apps that replace all these :

on page 32 of yr manual, hold the power switch on the "MODE" position for more than 2 seconds to register yr 3d glass. Be gentle horrr, the switch on the 3d spec is very fragile.

Does 3D content have to be on the screen to register the glasses or not? OR can I turn 2D-3D conversion and register? Coz I did the same thing you pointed out and still get blinking red and green lights.
*
I did it while watching 3d content on the tv.

My spec model is TY-ER3D4MA ( battery operated) and TY-ER3D4MW (USB chargeable). Presume u are on one of these models?

A point I brought up to iambloodysick when I told him mine would not pair up. I did the exact same thing, only that on my "Viera Touch Pad Controller Setup" screen, I have "Access" word come up, but it does nothing. Press the confirm button and it does nothing.

Okay I dont have 3D content at the moment other than games enabled in 3D, and the glasses remained blinking red and green. Dont tell me I have to go buy 3D Blu-ray before I can register and make this 3D glasses work!!?

I'm not sure, maybe u need 3d content to sync, this makes sense. What is yr spec model?

TY-ER3D4MA ( battery operated)
TY-ER3D4MW (USB chargeable)

U can also sync using 3d sbs mkv files via a wdtv if u have any .. or like u said, convert 2d to 3d and sync ..

Make sure u gently push the button on yr 3d spec to MODE position and hold that position for more than two seconds in order to sync ..

IF you're still reading this, what is your 3d glasses model and your actual VT50 model number? I'm suspecting they mix and match my 3D glasses and Touch Pad controller with models that doesnt work with my VT50. OR worse case scenario, the syncing unit on this TV is kaput.

Standard remote works, which means IR works. the 3D glasses and the Touch PAd controller are both Bluetooth.
*
Mine is a 65vt50k, made in Thailand too. I have both the battery and the USB chargeable Ty-er3d4 specs. All my specs (i have eight pairs, four of each) sync fine. You are aware that u need to push the spec button to mode position and hold there for two secs or longer in order to sync, right.

Yup, I did do that. It's in the manual. If I hold any longer, I'd be crushing the slide button in frustration already. How did you set up your Touch Pad? Or was setting the Touch PAd part of the initial setup when you first turn on your TV for the first time?
*
careful, the slide button is very fragile, i oledi broke one sad.gif

i set up my touchpad after the initial setup.

yes i synced with 3d content showing on screen. synced with Olympics 3d channel broadcasted by astro, with 3d sbs mkv files and bluray player, they all worked. when the 3d content appears on the tv, u will be prompted to press on yr 3d button on yr remote, u of coz press that 3d button before syncing.
