I've bought the XBA-S65 2-3 weeks ago, and I was told that I need to register the warranty online.
Did you guys register yours here http://mysony.sony.com.my/ExpressProductRegistration.aspx

thanks for the review smile.gif

i never found the treble of XBA-1 to be too high, to me the treble have a certain sweetness-pleasant sound to it which i like so much smile.gif

but i remember when first time auditioning all the models, i found XBA-1 relatively thinner sounding compared 2-4, at the same time i found there was just too much going on in XBA-4, but then those where just short impressions - after experiencing my 'brain burn-in', i know how i can fool myself into anything smile.gif

i found my xba can be more revealing than the ex300 to the source of my songs, if its low quality, then it will sound very cheap, ex300 can cover up better

i also think generally BA drivers will have lesser soundstage compared to dynamic ones

btw, how did you find using E7 on the XBA-1? esp. on the bass and overall?
*
after 'brain burn-in' and more comparison wif the AKG...i find the treble not so high anymore...but i do note that if its NOT plug-in into the ear tightly, it'll sound like radio. something some might find it uncomfortable after awhile....unlike a headphone...

but yeah...the soundstage is lesser compare to AKG.

using E7, i feel the bass improved. nod.gif

I test 4 model XBA-1/2/3/4 at Sony Mid Valley.

I don't why, I not really like all the model. The sound still not up to my expectation.

Maybe cos I prefer full size cans than IEM.

fuuuhhh... i tried the XBA-4 series last sunday in The Gardens Sony Centre..

super balanced... the bass goes so deep but the first thing that you'll notice when u wear them is the super-perfect fit which unbelievable isolation!

although, i was hoping for the bass to be a bit more boomier~

I think i might consider it.. despite its RM1000++ price tag~

Hehe I'll only consider it if the IP version comes in. The J cord on the SL version is really a no go for me.

I just called Sony and they told me that there is no warranty for my newly purchase XBA-S65. When I made the purchase in pavilion I was told that it comes with a one year warranty, and need to register the warranty through Sony website. Kinda feel like I got cheated.

As for other models, I'm not too sure.
So for you guys who wanted to get these iems, better double check again with Sony.

If I'm not mistaken there is this pinkish sticker on the box with something holographic. That should be the
serial for registration?

Sony earphones should have 1 year warranty and when you sign up online I think they add another 3 months to it?

Certainly there's a misunderstanding here. As long you buy from local authorised dealer you have 1 year warranty + additional 3 months if you registered online.

About the online registration I had not register my xba-4 yet, so I also had no idea which is the serial no.

Yeah, there is this pinkish sticker on the box, Sony Malaysia Genuine sticker thing.
I thought that is just to check whether is it genuine from Sony Malaysia ?

I called Sony twice, the first time was last Monday.
They told me there's no warranty for Sony earphone, but they will double check and get back to me. As expected they didn't get back to me, and yesterday I decided to give them another call.
Again, this time they tell me there's no warranty for Sony earphone, and I even specifically tell them the model no.

When I purchase it from the store in Pavilion, they told me it comes with 1 year warranty and I need to register it online. But I wasn't able to find the serial no. to proceed the registration, that is why I need to call Sony to seek for assistance. I really do hope it's a misunderstanding. If you're able to register yours please do update us in this thread.

I'm afraid online registration is not available for Sony earphone as I couldn't find the serial.Somemore online registration required you to register within 7days after you purchased.

However as long you have your proof of purchase, the 1 year limited warranty is valid for your xba.

Sony earphone is consider portable audio under audio section which is 1 year warranty. Unless they consider it as accesory like batteries or charger stated in the website.

This really makes me wonder Sony Malaysia know what are they selling or not...

At this rate I think Jaben will honor the warranty and have their own way to settle it. Perhaps for others that bought direct will have a hit or miss experience when it comes to warranty.

Does you box or earphone unit have any serial? Else I guess the +3month warranty is smoke and mirrors.

----

IINM, US and Aus both have 90 days warranty for sony earphones. Japan has 1 year.

That's the exact problem I faced while trying to register it online.
Like cyloh said, I believe jaben will honor the warranty for your earphone so I think you're safe.

I think it's absolute ridiculous if there's no warranty for Sony earphone, as some of their models are quite expensive. And if you do browse through garage sales, you will notice many other brands do provide warranty for their earphones.
