QUOTE(k3vin82 @ Sep 23 2011, 10:20 AM) ya i heard about this blood doping that some athletes do especially in cycling .. heard in tennis also some ppl do it.. but everytime i donate blood i dont feel stronger also the next few days.. haha.. QUOTE(ckseong80 @ Sep 23 2011, 10:23 AM) Ya I want to say maybe donating blood brings the mental effect that you will feel weaker and lethargic although actually that might not be the case. Right after donating blood, one sure feels very lethargic. Which is why they recommend it at least 3 days before your supposed sports event. Never tried it though. Not thatttttt hardcore. Wanna improve, go jogging and plug in headphones with 'eye of the tiger ' playing. Hahahaha. But hey mentally is very important too. If we think we cannot we already lost half the battle. GOOD LUCK TO ALL LYN MEMBERS WHO ARE JOINING THE CTO!!!! ME JEALOUS JEALOUS!!! HAHAHAHA |

a pusher means that person doesn't kill the ball and feeds off your errors. If a person can rally back and kill you, I don't think that's a pusher even though he hits a lot of dinky shots.
A pusher would mean that even when it's clearly a kill ball, he still dinks the ball back waiting for you to commit the error. A person who can dink and kill balls is not a pusher. He's just good at effing your game up. Placement and patience is important. DO not feel obligated to kill the ball because you know he's not going to hit a darn good shot back anyway. Make sure you're 100% good for the kill and then hit the winner. If that doesn't work and he gets the ball back, then you'll have to wait for another opening again. I saw a video in FYB once saying that we should take the ball early since pushers don't whack the balls and dinky shots can be taken slightly earlier. However, for lesser players, taking the ball earlier can be a game ending error-stricken problem. Rally it out with them first, get an opener and make the kill, he hits it back, then play it out first. Never get impatient. I recently played against one such player in the Sabah Games. He was extremely good in hitting lobs and covering the back court. Towards the middle of the 1st set, I dropped the balls, hit the ball with less pace (i don't mind cause he's just gonna slice it back anyway, so I don't fear him killing me), and make sure that I go for the kill only when he's really off balanced. Being a good retriever, he does get back some 'what I thought were point ending shots' and I just had to keep the rally going until there was another opening. Reduce pace, placing is top priority and PATIENCE will win the game. Try not to follow and hit dink shots cause that is HIS GAME. Just hit with less pace to avoid unforced errors. Don't end up dinking shots too. This post has been edited by Dark_Angel85: Sep 27 2011, 01:47 PM |

QUOTE(okyee @ Oct 8 2011, 04:39 PM) QUOTE(ryanlcc @ Oct 8 2011, 05:23 PM) Get a tennis racket. First, hit the wall. Then, join tennis group and as u play regularly, u will definitely improve. I heard Kl coaching price is by per hour. It's always better to have a coach if you're starting from 0. The tendencies to develop the wrong strokes at the very beginning learning on your own is very detrimental to the further stages of tennis. It might be ok at the beginning cause you're just trying to put the ball back in, but developing more advanced strokes will be a problem if your basics are all messed up.Get a coach. It'll cost ya if you wanna play the game, but it's well worth it at the end of the day. In KL? I'm sure there are many coaches available. |

Fish has had one of his best years in 2011 with his reduced weight and his variation of court play.
I remember one match with nadal in the finals which he barely lost was because he threw nadal off his usual rhythm by coming up to the net more to shorten the points. He was absolutely brave and brilliant in setting up those points. I think Fish has tonnes of potential to continue improving his net game. He is already doing superb also because of his good serves. Very good variation on his service and one thing that volleyers must have is an awesome kick serve which he executes VERY well even during choke points |
