Even though it stated the form must be submitted "before 23 December 2011 (Friday) at 5 p.m". There will be another interview after the SPM result announcement. So don't worry if you want to join but missed the first interview.

Yes there are. It is called Diploma in Nautical Studies (DNS) It costs you roughly 70k++ for the course. 3 years. After you finish your semester 6 final exam, then you are able to take the Certificate of Competency (COC) oral exam conducted by marine department.

Added on January 24, 2012, 11:14 pmThey were also called seafarers, generally they work onboard any ship. About their salary, on cargo ships should be the same because it is a merchant vessel and also depending on its company. Regarding cruise ships, I'm not sure about that.

I suggest you don't bring expensive phone to ALAM. Too many cadet lost their phone. Stolen by ghost.
Unless you are an officer doing their mate and master course here.

Well, actually "ghost" is thief.
The cadets there really like to steal from others. Especially phone and laptop.
So just be extra careful when you get there.

I don't think so, Usually they will come in group for registration. Yes we all study together. "One for all, all for one". All the foreigners will be seperate evenly into each classes.

For your record, DNS and DME is now a unified campus. Meaning there is only 1 campus in Melaka.

Usually it has already started, maybe like 2 weeks ago(induction maybe). It is normal for foreigner to start the course a bit late. So no worry.

Last year, we start at 1st of august( foreigner still not come yet )

If you do not want to do laser, you can still join diploma in marine engineering. You can wear spectacles.
But still work onboard a ship
