Smokehouse in either Fraser's Hill or Cameron Highlands. Tea in the garden is really ala British. laugh.gif But do it here in KL, you will be sweating. Many KLites prefers coffee anyway. Earl Grey or Darjeeling really nice with scones covered with fresh cream and strawberries.

Flower Tea - Pink Rose (10gm) @RM12.90++

Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - My sister says same like her drinking water but with fragrance only. Well, it is true for the first round. After 10-15 minutes, you will see the tea started to turn pinkish. So that's the time you will drink the true fragrance of a flower tea. Before this I have tried Lavender and Jasmine. Now my favorite is Pink Rose. Absolutely must try!

Two set but we got to share among 4 people to finish it

meaning that if you are going for it, make sure you go in couple as the food portion quite big, one set can feed two people well

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Let's choose our tea. They has a lot of types of tea to choose from. I wish to try them all one day.

user posted image
Orange Meringue, English Tea Toast Almond Cookies, Old-Fashion English Scone, Old-English Butter Cake and Victorian Tea Sandwich. Outlook: 5/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: N/A Overall: 4/5 - Deliciously speechless. The bread for the sandwiches itself is not a normal plain bread that I usually had. This one is with tasty crunchy sunflower seed with it. Even their jam is specially made which it is available for sale separately.

user posted image
Victorian Isabella Tea.
user posted image
I do not have to rate this because it is absolutely fragrance and aromatically captivating.

user posted image
Victorian Rebecca Tea
user posted image
Another excellent tea which brings out a slight minty flavor in it.

user posted image
Left is Cookies & Cream which I still prefer the one from Haagen Dazs. While on the right is their Old-Fashioned Raisin. I like this one the most because tasted like Rum & Raisin and better than Haagen Dazs at some point.

user posted image
Yes, you can purchase their tea separately.

On the 2nd layer we have Scones, Rosemary & Cheese Cookies, Strawberry Chocolate Dip and Handroll Chocolate Truffle. The cookies is so-so and the scones is not hot enough like I used to have at The Smokehouse Restaurant and Victoria Rossa. While for others are pretty delicious and for chocolate lovers will certainly love it.

Anywhere with a lot traditional pastries or baked goods? Mostly it's just scones

I bake a lot but never had the opportunity to sample 'proper' or successful ones from other bakers =(

Restaurant Name: Harrods

Georgian Tea Blend is serving piping hot. Each person has one small pot like this with refillable hot water at no cost. Since it is filled with loose tea leaves, a filter like this is required. By the way. only one type of tea is served here and other option is given. Anyway, Georgian Tea Blend is a perfect tea for our afternoon.

user posted image
You can customize your tea to your liking with cream and sugar. You can opt for coffee or a hot chocolate if you're not a tea or coffee drinker.

user posted image
Here is the afternoon set @RM120.00 for 2 pax. If you have 3 persons like what we have on that day, just add another RM60 for another set like this or order any drinks you like in their menu and share this set for 3 pax. Otherwise, you can opt for the same Georgian Tea Blend for RM20.00.

user posted image
This is what you see in their second their with their assorted cakes. All are simply delicious. The chocolate fudge cake is not bad at all. I thought it could be very sweet but surprisingly they are just very well done.

user posted image
Salmon Sandwiches, Egg Mayonnaise Sandwiches and Beef Sandwiches. All are goody! Sometimes they have Roast Turkey Sandwiches which is not available on that day.

user posted image
Here comes their scones. Very small scones but well baked in golden color with raisins in it.

user posted image
Mix them with their fresh and delicious blueberry jams, strawberry jams and Devonshire cream which are available for sales too. I like the cream the most. I wish to eat it just like that.

user posted image
After that is self-taken pictures session. A norm in our culture which we enjoy it to blend together with our high class high tea session. blush.gif

Additional info on English Tea House and Restaurant:

A tourist is playing the British Royal Family game which is known as croquet.

user posted image
In case you do not know how to play, here are the rules.

user posted image
Teh Sabah which is available and serve in most areas in Sabah. When we request them to add hot water, they charged us an additional RM3.00++. That's super ridiculous. I wonder how they got the reward.

user posted image
Chocolate Mousse @RM13.50++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 2/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 2/5 - This is a real bad dessert. Their dessert really bad. My last experience has tried once and this time is still the same.

user posted image
Royal Tea Set @RM38.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall 3/5 - Pretty disappointing. I will narrow down my review as below.

user posted image
Fruits and normal brownies which I have mentioned earlier on that their desserts really very very bad. I wonder who is the bakery chef.

user posted image
Sandwich is much better but the sandwich which I am focusing in this picture is called cucumber sandwich. That's really a cheapo type of sandwich to be displayed here.

user posted image
Scones! Their scones are the biggest I have ever eaten for now. So my expectation is very high but somehow it taste really bad. Usually a good scone will give you a fluffy, soft and full of butter fragrance. But this one is no one near that. The scones stuck in every gap in my teeth and very hard to swallow. I almost choke.

user posted image
A closer shot on the big scone!

Total Damage: RM59.75
Ambiance: 4/5
Service: 1/5
Food Serving Speed: Moderate
Recommended?: Not anymore. For those who likes the ambiance here, very much recommended.
Extra Comments: I am very disappointed with their high tea set but that is not all. I find that their service is get even worse than before. We reached there and we requested for an air-conditioned room because that day was freaking hot! The waitress just simply point to the direction of a room. When we went in, the air-con in the room was not on and the waitress earlier on is not there to usher us in. We were so pissed with the service when we were felt like invisible there.

Scones & Macaroons
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 1/5
Overall: 2/5 - The Macaroons are bigger than the usual one that I used to have at T'forty Two. But they are just too sweet! The scones are quite delicious with full of raisin but sadly they do not serve the Devonshire cream like what they have advertised in the deal.

Overall: 4/5 - I really like their bread. Really well done. Love their Bruschetta! Finally there is something in this restaurant which I feel worth it.

Ambiance: 4/5
Service: 3/5
Food Serving Speed: Fast
Will I Revisit?: Yes but never going to try their cakes and macaroons anymore.

Overall: 4/5 - 2 persons dining in a cafe but ordering 5 desserts. Wahahaha...so happy when seeing all these dessert on our table. However, we are advised by the waitress to eat in order. She highly recommended us to start with this first. I am telling you that this is the best ever cake I had in my life. No joke! I can eat another one because it does not make you feel full at all. Seriously, I do not even wish to share with May Lynne at all and I know she had the same thoughts too. Not sweet at all. Just well enough for you to crave for more. Excellent dessert!

White Chocolate Semifreddo @RM12.00
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 5/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 4/5 - This is the second dessert that we are advised to eat. So we took the first bite. It was so sourish and have the feeling this is a real bad dessert. But after the second bite is all different story. The sourish taste is from the sour cream which is wrapping around the vanilla ice cream which is hidden inside. When you scoop the ice cream together with the sourish cream and eat, the taste was truly amazing. Sourish taste from the cream and the sweetness from the ice cream are compensating each other and blending so well together which you do not feel either of the taste is to be superior in your mouth. Outstanding experience! Never know a dessert can be this fun!

Overall: 3/5 - A dessert from France and it is made of almond mergue and buttercream. The green color cream is obviously the green tea. I think it is not a bad dessert but just too bad only two pieces and already cost RM12.00. Anyway, it is a MUST TRY!

Irish Cream Pecan Cheesecake @RM12.00
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 1/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 2/5 - After 3 delicious desserts, our expectation is getting higher. Unfortunately, a HUGE anticlimax after we tasted this dessert. The Irish Cream carries too much bitter taste which is spoiling our taste bud. I do not feel that a bitter taste should ever exist in a dessert or the very least for a dessert which expected to have alcohol in it. For this one, is real wrong for us. Unfortunately, no matter how I forced myself I couldn't finish it. May Lynne was even worst, she left everything for me after the first bite. After I criticized her only she got herself another two bites. Grrr...

Rum Mascarpone @RM12.00
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 2/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 3/5 - Here comes the final dessert. We are advised to eat this dessert in a tiny scoop. I understand what is the concept they are trying to bring into this tiny jar. This is their so called the "jar of taste" where they are putting sourish taste from the raisin, sweet taste from the chocolate bits, slightly bitter taste from the rum and salty taste from the pistachio nuts. Unfortunately this "jar of taste" is totally covered by bitter taste. Whenever I ate the raisin, the bitter taste roam all over my mouth. No sourish taste as expected. I do not understand why is it happened and once again our taste bud was ruined. We thought of ordering another two desserts after these which are Almond Homemade Tofu Fah and Chocolate Molten Cake but we have to call it a day since we do not have anymore appetite to eat.

Close up on the first tier which are their delicious tarts. Most of their tarts are made by strawberry. The strawberries are fresh from Cameron Highland.

3 different types of delicious sandwiches on the second tier.

The last and the third tier is my favourite, the scones! The scones are delicious, the chocolate are more to a little bitter which is just perfect for my liking and the strawberry jam is real fresh. However, what I like the most is their fresh cream. I refilled 4 times for it. I just cannot get enough with them. Best accompany with the soft and tasty scones.
