Yes IKEA accepts AMEX but you need to type in the 4-digit security CVV on the front to proceed.
Some newbie cashier just says declined... so it's up to you to view the EDC.

Lolz anyone knows which bank machine they are using? Ima gonna email the bank to give them training.
If i recall correctly, the edc terminal are quite far from customer's place so its pretty hard to see whats going on.

But anyways, it shouldnt have asked for CVV anymore coz its embedded on the chip..
Unless they swiped the magnetic strip instead of using the chip then yes...or a fallback transaction.

Its not following Bank Negara standard!

Ima email the bank and ask them give a proper explanation..anyone know which bank?

Alternatively, just complain to the IKEA management can solve the issue on the spot and get your transaction swiped with amex.

Just used my MB2Amex to pay for my Digi and Hotlink top-up via e-Pay at Tesco Mutiara.
Get 5% cash back + 5x TP + Tesco Clubcard points => 5%+2.5%+0.5%=8% equivalent rebates. Yay rclxm9.gif
I used to buy top-up in 7-11 using cash. Thanks for the tips being shared here. thumbup.gif Will get it from Tesco from now on. rclxms.gif
