Does anyone able to use Amex at Ikea?
I went to purchase stuffs on 2 different days both say canot, but there's a sticker at the cashier there showing Amex cards...
*
Yes IKEA accepts AMEX but you need to type in the 4-digit security CVV on the front to proceed.
Some newbie cashier just says declined... so it's up to you to view the EDC.

Lolz anyone knows which bank machine they are using? Ima gonna email the bank to give them training.
If i recall correctly, the edc terminal are quite far from customer's place so its pretty hard to see whats going on.

But anyways, it shouldnt have asked for CVV anymore coz its embedded on the chip..
Unless they swiped the magnetic strip instead of using the chip then yes...or a fallback transaction.

Its not following Bank Negara standard!

Ima email the bank and ask them give a proper explanation..anyone know which bank?

Alliance EDC Terminal at IKEA.... the EDC is just beside you at the cashier counter.

Daiso (Aeon 1Utama) accepts Amex.
*
To be fair... it's AEON which accepts Credit Card (Visa/Mastercard/Amex).
Those are AEON cashiers, not from Daiso.
Daiso outlets only accepts CASH !!!

I know it is Aeon which accepts credit card.
Those heading to Daiso (eCurve) may consider Daiso 1U instead. It all boils down to "net savings".

Streetdeal.my via payment gateway Ipay88 accepted my CC txn using Amex Maybank2 card. But there's no TAC verification available like Mastercard Securecode of Verified by Visa.

And this was not thru the paypal option. Ipay88 actually supports Amex now and just started few days back.

Let's hope this will open the floodgate to more usage for Amex cards.

Toys R Us Express - Paradigm Mall does not accept AMEX.

I believe TRU has not set the EDC to accept AMEX at this brand new store (opened on 23 May 2012).
The MBF EDC message was "Transaction Not Allowed"

Hi Bro Ronnie,
I think there's some misunderstanding. A per quote, they only accept AMEX Platinum as  mode of payment and not accept Gold. I believe Wacky was not refering the AMEX platinum.
*
I believe Wacky-Angel was referring to the Buy 1 Free 1 ... but I could be proven wrong by Wacky-Angel.
Else, the cashier is not well trained... don't even accept AMEX Gold as payment rclxub.gif shocking.gif

If I remembered correctly, Dragon-i and Canton-i do accept AMEX.

Their terminal is very likely from CIMB. Normally the 4-digit CID is not required.
*
The Dragon-i at Midvalley/Cititel Hotel needed the 4-digit CID (Hong Leong EDC)
