Guys,

I am thinking of installing auto light on/off to certain area of my house. Here are the places:

1. Main and back doors. Automatically light on/off at night or in the morning. Sensor or timer wouldn't be a matter as long as it serves as needed with good price.
2. In case of blackout event happen, the light automatically on (at night only if possible). Where to get this kind of light? what is its name? I need 2 of this lamp to be installed in the house, one at each stair.

how much do you estimate for the above for equipment as well as labor?

Thank you.

Your requirement are quite easy and common.
1. Either you install a photocell or a timer. The advantage of photocell over the timer is that if there is power failure, the timer's setting could be out. However there are timers with built-in batteries but will cost more. Photocells can be purchase from the electrical supply shops for around RM30 each. Get the better quality ones.
2. This basically the emergency lights. It comes with its own built-in batteries. Can get them from the light shops or the electrical shops.

Last week just brought a solar wall mount light serve as what you write here.

At night it will light up the led. ( abit dimmer). And when got people near the area, a second light will on which using motion to detect. (This light is brighter). Morning, it will charge the battery.

Here I don't know where to get. Brought from Oz. Cost RM60 for 2pcs.

It is wall mounted and no wiring need. You need to place at outside wall or beside door which got sunlight. No need direct sunlight.

I wonder if the those sensor (Selcon) is reliable? Its purpose will switch ON the lights when night falls and switch OFF when its daytime.
