any1 here using gps software such as sygic/ papago x5? im using both of them and i dunno why most of the time the gps could not be detected. for papago's case theres always a  satellite screen with a question mark on the right hand top corner. for sygic's case i saw " waiting for valid response" for sooo long. any ways to solve the problem? ~_~

You could help it acquire satellite lock easier by:
1. Under clear sky and outside of building
2. Standing still. In fast moving cars, you will never get a lock.
3. Enable AGPS and if you did the above, should lock within seconds. Of course, server setting must be correct.

In other words, same old, same old +1. It's still gonna be a more coherent (read: completely Apple controlled) UX, and it's still gonna have crap battery life when jailbroken. And Apple WILL STILL call it "the Magical Device".
Before JB, battery life good. But after JB, battery life bad. Why do you say that?

iOS has good battery life simply because it DOES NOT HAVE REAL MULTITASKING. JB fixes that (especially with backgrounder) and certain apps like winterboard and SBsettings (and celeste and colorkeyboard and multiflow and activator and crunchSMS and attachmentSaver and ibluever... do you need me to continue with this list?) NEED background processes to live or operate properly. Hence crap battery life after JB.
I don't think you are being fair to iPhone. Any phone with so many apps running in the background and if accessing WiFi/Internet/3G at the same time will consume more battery. AFAIK, all work requires energy (battery in this case).

I have an Nokia N8 and travel the road with friends using iPhone4. I think they are just as long lasting as mine.

great, now I need to pay to use A-GPS when driving.....I thought it can use the cell towers to find out where we are? that does not require internet

Use AGPS uses data. Getting cell location also uses data (I think). Either way, there is no free lunch if you wanted faster GPS satellite lock. Only uses about 10KB of data costing 10 sen each time you use AGPS. Come on lah, you make calls to people already more than that.
