I'm having a problem that i keep on losing my wifi connection. I had to disable and enable back my wifi from my phone to[I] get connected again. Anyone has this prob too?
*
Are you using any apps that control such features ?? There are quite a number of such 3rd party apps - I do not use any of such apps. I only turn on my WiFi when I need it and my 3G is always 24/7 on

Guys, how do I uninstall the apps from Safe To Remove spreadsheet ? The options are in grey and i cant choose to uninstall them. Please help me  notworthy.gif

You can only remove such greyed out apps if your phone is rooted. Use Titanium Backup to delete or freeze it

I realize this when I use Cognition..and I full wipe..now on Batista..but still same..
Benny, what do you think?  hmm.gif
*
I don't think is rom issue. My camera performance is same in all the roms that I have tested
I keep my pics on the external micro Sd card ( a DNA class 10) .
If you are saving your pics on the external card, Maybe you can check whether is your external card write speed issue ?

wat is this fast dormancy thingy?..

Refer page 1 FAQ Q16 ; repost here

Phones Today became more and more sophisticated. They are no longer devices for placing calls or for sending and receiving text messages only. They have become more “smart” and feature packed. A phone is now a PDA, a media player, an internet device and much more which is entirely different from what it was like say 10 years ago. The advancement of the cell phone technology has caused these devices to demand more power. Sadly (and this is my personal opinion) the advancement in Battery technology has not been on par with progress in cellular devices, standards and networks. This is where new network technologies like Fast Dormancy come in play in an attempt to optimize battery live of our power hungry Devices.

What is Fast Dormancy? In simple terms its a device feature that enables mobile devices to notify the cellular base stations when the radio resource allocated to the device is no longer in use, so that the radio resource could be immediately released other than waiting for a timeout event. For instance lets say you are browsing a webpage using your cellular data plan. You stop at a certain webpage (for example to read this article) the connection is maintained and the device will be registered on the network even if data isn’t received or transmitted (always on) and will remain like that until a timeout event is invoked (as per the network rules as to how much time to wait before connection is terminated due to idle timeout). During this time the device’s battery will be drained needlessly in addition to increased congestion on the cellular network due to numerous idle connections. From a device perspective radio power consumes battery so employing fast dormancy should save battery power and increase its life. This also has an advantage to networks as it reduces congestion. But This doesn’t come without a major disadvantage to the very same cellular networks and operators. The making and breaking of the connections increases the signaling traffic and wastes network resources. The workaround to this was done by Nokia Siemens in collaboration with Qualcomm to employ NCFD or Network Control Fast Dormancy in which the device is put on a battery saving idle state while maintaining its network identity without the need to establish a new connection and request a new identity for the device on the network.

How does this affect/benefit us Android Users? Well, too many factors come into play here. The most important being your operator’s network being optimized for Fast Dormancy. In addition each device manufacturer has its own proprietary approach to deploy Fast Dormancy (and well all know proprietary and android don’t play nice regarding third party development). Also the NFCD and other carrier enforced approaches will be designed to override any individual device settings that may ignore the Network Controls. Finally Fast dormancy benefits those who use cellular Data, its of little or no value to those who use wifi for internet and other related services.

Found this great simple tool : Darkyrom2 Tool

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.ficeto.darkyrom2

Use it to flash tar files ( example kernel ) without using Odin. Just launch the app and just select "Flash /Ibnstall file from sdcard"

err uncle benny, i'm using cwm to flash tar file and it works, so probably not necessary to get it if ur custom rom doesnt remove the cwm application  smile.gif
*
It is just another tool for those who does not have CWM. Anyway using it will not remove CWM

certain ROM requires certain apps to install. you need this tool to install this one:
http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.ph...-kh3-base.4950/

as per mentioned by its developers.

other wise can use CWM or others..
*
That is only applicable if you wish to install Darky roms. Just using the app does not need you to install the stated files
Infact you can even install Darky roms through CWM - no need even to go through all his stated downloads/processes. But using his methods would mean troubleshooting would be easier for him as he need not entertain any conflicts from other methods of flashing

Added on September 19, 2011, 1:05 pmAnyone tried XEU_I9100XWKH4 ? Now downloading it and will test it later today

i need help please ! i receive the S2 yesterday and i installed the latest KIES. Plugged in my S2, connected and shows firmware update available. Click on it, everything and all the sudden it hangs after downloading the firmware before installing.

It says lost connection and advise me to pull the battery out and redo everything again. Tried several times and still the same results.

am using windows 7, anyone face this problem again.

Current firmware : PDA:KF1/PHONE:KF1/CSC:KE5(XME)
Latest firmwre version : PDA:KH2/PHONE:KH1/CSC:KH1(XME)
*
Try plug in another USB port
This is problem updating thro KIES. If you are lucky, you can successfully download it at one ago. But most users has to try several times. Just need patience if you wish to update through KIES
BTW, update your KIES to latest version first from the menu at top

QUESTION.

1. Do i need to backup my Titanium Backup Donate version license? If yes where could i get them, what filename?

Or i can just simply redownload TB and its License without paying for a second time for the new rom?
*
Your tb licence is text file in internal sd named titaniumbackup_licence.txt
just copy it and keep it safe
you can just redownload the free version next time and it will auto be pro version once it detect the licence txt file

I do not understand why some users has so much issues with using siyah kernel. I have been using ver 1.5 till 1.7 on the Touch Extreme and Touch Power roms - I do not faced any issues of freezing, poor battery life etc
The only thing I did was just freeze the default Daemon and just use setcpu to control my processor speed ( minimum 500 to 1400 MHz) and undervolt it across all by 100mV.
I never bother changing any of the scripts - just use all the default settings
I have even tested siyah ( 1.5 to 1.6) on Cognition 1.5.1 - works beautifully too

if you follow the thread, its all about 100mhz~ undervolting~ gpu undervolting~ overclocking~ echo~ blabla
if the changelog for the new version doesnt affects how you use your phone or you're not interested in it, then dont update la, until he puts in something that is worth updating.
*
Yes, why bother to under clock it up to 100mhz. how much battery savings will one get - maybe the most an hour
I am happy and comfortable at lowest 500mhz without any worries about freeze/hang and instability
Battery life is still excellent. I just use setcpu to under volt 100mv across all clock speeds
