Hi guys. Wanna ask something regarding how to go online with my PS3. Please note that this questions come from a real newbie, and might sounds silly to old-timers here  icon_question.gif

a) I have a Celcom USB broadband modem and i use it to go online with my laptop everyday. Can I just simply insert the broadband modem into the PS3 USB port and the PS3 will recognize it and go online with it?

Or,

b) When my laptop is online (via the Celcom USB broadband), can I connect the LAN port from my laptop to my PS3 LAN port using the LAN cable and go online with the PS3? You know, like piggybacking the laptop to go online with the PS3?

These two methods just came into my mind this morning and I really need your opinion. Or maybe it is just plain ridiculous and there are other ways to go online? If so, please show me the right way.

The purpose for me to go online is just to simply browsing the internet using the PS3, downloading demos, trailers and stuff and eventually play games online. And since I live in a rented house, and the tuan rumah is not planning to install phone line, USB broadband modem is the only gateway for me to go online.

a)not possible
b)yes you can share your 3g connection through your laptop's lan

recommended method would be get a router that supports 3g modem like aztech hw550 or tplink m3420

Basically this happened when i switch my lcd input from hdmi to dvi (ps3 to pc), then when i tried to switch back, the screen stays black only

I've tried holding the power button, after 3 beeps it turns off, then i did the same thing again, this time I release the power button after 2 quick beeps but still nothing on the screen sad.gif
