ahh... u guys keep talking bout the warranty. is it ps3 got a lot of problems de? the last time i own a console was a ps2. didnt have any problem on it for like 3-4years. lol. get a malaysian set then! lol, anyways, difference of only 200bucks. ok gua =]

Lol my PS3 I bought last year June which I rarely plays got problem adi which I suspect hard disk problem.Sent it to the service centre at Ipoh here today..they said need to send to KL @_@

how long will they take to repair?mine was SG set but still works fine after almost 3 years not like my phat which only 2 years before YLOD.thinking of getting another MY slim ps3 for spare...

They didnt say they will take exactly how long.Mine was slim version but got problem eventhough I dont play much and it's not even 1 year yet >.<

erm...how do i backup my ps3 save game to USB drive? i remember i did it b4. now only got option to backup to psn+

You used Ext HDD? Try using Micro SD instead. I tried just now and it works.

mine still can backup to USB thumbdrive with no prob...

maybe your USB drive not being detected by ps3?

or maybe the savegame is "copy protected" ... hence you can only see psn+ online storage

Guys, i got a problem with my PS3. When i turn it on, it told me to connect my controller via USB and on it. After that, it told me to put Firmware 4 or latest on a USB device and connect it to the PS3 so i dl the FW and put in my USB and connect it. But after the firmware update almost finish(at 99%) It wrote "Serious problem occured. Contact your technical support" or smth like that. Should i send my PS3 for repair or is there any other solutions ?

my USB detected allrite since i can see my previous gt5 save backup in it

but i cant backup to USB anymore try a few USB drive still same, only option is "copy" with a psn+ logo (ie online backup)

maybe sony try to milk $$$ from me by forcing me sign up psn+

as real as it can be but thus far, with ps3 you jail you loose even more, heck even without jailbreaks we can hear ppl saying ps3 has a lot of probs.so why take the gamble??unless that odd 1.3+/-K money is nothing to you.

you can install firmware thru ps3 recovery mode (see pg 1 post #1)

also check the file whether its corrupted

is ur ps3 under warranty? u can try send to sony for diagnostic ... could be hdd prob

try going offline (dont sign in to psn) and saving maybe that'll work
