I'm having almost similar problem as yours. Games that are run from Bluray get stuck.
But games that are run from my HDD not stuck.
I suspect it's the lens.
Here's a suggestion: Try downloading a game from PSN (Demo better, coz it's free) and see if the game can run smoothly from your HDD. If it's smooth, then your lens might be the problem.

I haven't replaced my lens yet. Planning to DIY it with the parts I'm going to order online.
I'm not sure what exactly caused my lens to go faulty. Main culprit should be dust, I think.
Plus, my Bluray is having loading problems too. So, it could be a combination of both.

I have look around for a good lcd monitor to use with my ps3. budget 400 at most.. Any suggestions? cheaper is better though... running on tight budget. Thank you... ive checked the other threads but most of the monitors ive seen are really expensive

u can get like a 720p monitor if u r on tight budget since almost all games rendered at 720 resolution and upscaled to 1080...

How do i know if its 720p monitor?

Do i checked at the native resolution? or something i need to know?
Or just get a hdmi monitor?

i have a benQ G900HD monitor with the HDCP thingy compliant and it wouldnt show sadly, i know it can go up to 720p but sadly wouldnt work.
Now still confuse at what monitor i should get to run my ps3 on since i dont know what to look at to know it will work with ps3.

I think RM 400 should net you a solid 20 - 21 incher (or 23-24 incher if you don't mind China brands like AOC, etc etc) with 1920 x 1080 resolution. Go LY plaza and search.

i am using sonic gear armageddon a3 speaker and aoc 23.6 inch monitor.the problem is when is play my ps3 on the monitor,the sound come out from the monitor as it has a build in speaker but does not play with the sonic gear armaggedon speaker.any solution.sorry newbie here

the game uses your hdd as a cache. thats why it is stuttering. if the lens is problematic, it will skip, not stutter. that and it will take quite some time for the ps3 to load the game.

so...wheres the usb update of 4.30?its been a while,i dont really wanna risk it updating online,since usb never gave me any problem anyway
