Is your PS3 the phat version? Because the phat versions have a tendency to have this malfunction. A friend of mine had this happen to his PS3 phat which basically caused him to have difficulties starting his PS3 and it was because the heat caused the motherboard to melt or something like that. It was RM400 to fix I think and if yours is the phat then I suggest getting the new slim one cause it would hardly have this problem.

hi, i have a question wanna ask. i have a laptop that i dun use anymore since i bought a new 1, and i was wondering isit possible to connect ps3 to laptop and output using laptop screen? i dun feel lik buying a new monitor since i stay in dorm and it take up space.

Yes. Use easycap. It's work 100%. this usb adaptor cost you around rm60-120. There's LYN forumer sell this hardware. Try to find it under garage sales.

will it lag? or the game will still be smooth?

But then since I plan to get a LCD tv next year...so if IT IS REALLY possible then I can use my laptop display til next year although I am really not sure whether it's real or not

i got a question. if i wanted to connect my ps3 to a monitor, the monitor must be HDCP? i did some research on the net and some says it's a must while some says it not really necessary. btw, i'm just using my ps3 to play games.

If i buy a R3 copy of game. But on dashboard, i am on US account.

Yup... hdmi video + analog audio OR hdmi audio + analog video works. hdmi video + analog video OR hdmi audio + analog audio won't work.

Added on August 22, 2012, 5:38 pmerrmm dashboard?? anyways it depends on the game. so games' dlc are region free, some are locked.. so if the dlc for the r3 is region free, no issues, otherwise, won't play.. (i bought vanquish r3, played on my US acct (r1), bought the weapon pack dlc from the US store (r1) and it didn't work for the game).

currently i am using a monitor which i have to use my HDMI convert to DVI port. For the sound, i still use the Y cable to connect to the cable from ps3 so got sound and video at the same time. If i am going to buy a new monitor with HDMI port. I still can use the Y cable which i used earlier and it still got sound right?

You can enable Audio Multi-Output in Sound Settings via XMB.
