no it doesn't delete all data... just restore those important OS files (ps3 will detect it as corrupted) same thing happened when ps3 hang so many times when playing Mass Effect 3

to do that, you have access to ps3 recovery mode, see post 1 for further details. icon_rolleyes.gif

3 beeping sound if the ps3 didn't shutdown properly (hdd indicator still blinking)

access the ps3 recovery mode (post #1) and do the following:

1. Restore Filesystem
2. Rebuild Database

if problem still persist, it might be hdd failure.

you can't send the console to sony if its jailbreak. They will not take it for repair.

as for e3 flasher, we can't talk abt it in this forum as it is against the rules. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1577932

when ps3 hangs, usually game freezes (ME3, bf3, etc)... you can reject the disc. Press the power button then the system will beep 3 times for restart. Sometimes it will auto-rebuild database.

Too many ps3 restarts might corrupt ps3 OS filesystem (then the need to do restore OS filesystem by accessing ps3 recovery mode)

your disc slot a bit dirty?

normally retail games are purchased from psn store, installed into ps3 hdd (check available titles)

ps3 uses sata notebook hdd 9.5mm thickness (formatted fat32 hdd)

so if u want to upgrade ps3 hdd from 160gb to 500gb.. sure its possible

actually its best to send to sony for diagnostic

ylod is just general error (power supply board faulty, etc), resulting in ps3 shutdown temporary/permanent

buy new MY set, highly recommended thumbup.gif
