Hi ifana, have some questions here..

What is the minimum qualifications for SPM so that I will be accepted into language school or universities over Japan? (How many A's or what sub. have to get credits)

approximately how long would it take from learning language in Malaysia until landing in Japan taking real courses?

If i want to apply scholarship on the universities on Japan itself, is it depends solely the result of EJU?
*
Hello there boi boi!

Basically they don't look at the results. but instead you need to have 11 years of education so basically entering the Japanese language school is very easy to get in.

I learned Japanese language in KL for about 3 months before I flew here to Tokyo. Then I continued for another 1 and a half years here before I enter university. So basically you need a basic of one or one and a half years of Japanese language learning before you probably can pass the EJU exam.

Yes, EJU is the most important examination to enter Uni. Its pretty much like our SPM or STPM/Alevels. So if you're serious about studying in Japan, be warned that you need to spend pretty much 1.5 years to learn the language before you can move to the next phase smile.gif

I wish you all the best.

Sorry for the late reply. A lot happened. Was busy as hell. But I'm okay now smile.gif

Hi there, i'm taking my SPM this year. Being a japan freak, i would like to study in japan too  biggrin.gif Here's a few of my questions.

1. I was planning to take A levels after my SPM. Now studying in Japan being the case, there's no need for A levels anymore right?

2. I'm aiming for JPA scholarships. So my pathway from msia--->japan shud be: SPM--->JPA--->japanese school---->japan uni right?

3. Let's say i'm able to achieve JLPT N2 before going to japan, does this mean i can skip the japanese school part and just go for EJU?

Hi there Flame Haze. Here are the answers to your questions based on my experience. I believe the system is still the same:

1. I was planning to take A levels after my SPM. Now studying in Japan being the case, there's no need for A levels anymore right?
A: Yes you do not need A levels. You can apply straight after SPM.

2. I'm aiming for JPA scholarships. So my pathway from msia--->japan shud be: SPM--->JPA--->japanese school---->japan uni right?
A: Yes. That's right. I do know a lot of JPA scholarship students in Japan and that's pretty much the procedure they went through after SPM smile.gif

3. Let's say i'm able to achieve JLPT N2 before going to japan, does this mean i can skip the japanese school part and just go for EJU?
A: Yup. Its possible but it is easier to enter Uni if you've graduated from a Japanese language school. This does play a big role for the Universities would want assurance that you have really capture and embrace the language based on your experience living in Japan. But its not impossible so no worries. Oh one more thing. If you're planning to enter Japanese universities this way, it'll be wise to try and achieve N1 instead of N2.

Good luck. Best wishes.

Hey... anyone knw abt the exam of mext scholarship
*
I took it before but failed miserably. Ok, there are 2 stages as I remembered, the first one is the exam and the second one is the interview. But the exam is the key here. The interview is normally just a formality to get to know you better. So the key to it is if you pass the exam, consider yourself in. It was really tough though UGH or maybe I'm just not smart enough. Huhu.

But you can do it in English at least. Wouldn't be so bad no?

Well, best of luck!

If i got the scholarship from JPA to go to japan for engineering diploma, will i be able to continue my degree there also if my results is good? And i'm really confused about the accreditation from BEM for engineering degrees from overseas  rclxub.gif anybody can help?  biggrin.gif
*
Yo Meshell!

Yes you can always continue to degree. In Japan, there is this system called '編入’ if you read Chinese maybe you already know what that means or can at least guess. Hennyu means transfer so basically you are allowed to enter a university from the middle. I've had a few friends who entered during their third year after finishing their diploma. So it shouldn't be a problem.

As for the BEM accreditation, I really have no idea, sorry this i can't help huhu

Wishing you the best!

Hi ifana, i got some questions here

rignt now iam taking diploma in electronic eng at polytechnic premier

there is any hope that i can take degree in electronic eng at japan ? and does it need my CGPA 3.5>4.0 ?

Thanks smile.gif

Hello KeroGo,

Yes, its very possible...in fact, there are a lot of scholarship students who are pursuing electronic engineering courses in Japanese universities. When it comes to Diploma, it all depends on whether the university would be willing to transfer your credits so that you continue to degree level...But I don't think you need that high of a CGPA level, should have at least more than 2.5 I think.

Nevertheless, it is better to check with various universities for the outcome may be different smile.gif

Good luck!

QUOTE(Joyous4ever @ Jun 4 2013, 05:02 PM)
will it be hard to me to obtain jpa scholarship to japan if i have poor co-curriculum activities marks in school? coz i dont really attend for these activities.
*
Hi JOyous4ever,

No no, they don't look at those at all I believe. Unless, you can present them with Academic awards, you don't have to bother telling them that you're the president of the Red Cross Club in school or anything like that. What JPA would want to see is only outstanding results, that's all...so, you don't need to worry about co-curriculum activities, but rather i advice you to concentrate more on getting excellent results to enable you to compete with other brilliant students.

I wish you all the best and God bless!

May I ask if there's any culinary arts or food related degree courses in Japan? Where can I look for more information? Thank you
*
HEllo running panda!

I have never heard of any university that offers culinary arts or food related degree courses. How about Specialized schools instead? As to how you can find information, try googling Senmon Gakkou...you might be able to find out some things if not much...

Go for it!

Hi Ifana, made an account just so I could post here XD
I lurked around the forum for a while and I was wondering, what school did you attend for 3 months to learn Japanese before proceeding to ABK in Tokyo?
I think I'd like to take the same pathway as you after my SPM, since it seems easier than all other methods XD

Hello rinrinring,

I attended LUPEICHUN Japanese LAnguage School near Petaling Street.
I hope you read chinese coz the website I'm about to give you is in Chinese...

woaahhhh, I didn't know this thread exist!!!!

anyway, for Pre-U students, if let's say someone finished A-level/stpm, so what is the requirement of grade to study at 1 particular uni in Japan?? they look at how many A/A-??

thx
*
Hi Kanan,

Not sure if the answer to this question would still be relevant to u now that its been around two months since you last posted the question but here goes.

Unfortunately, your pre-u cert will not be useful in this case and I'm speaking out of experience. I did my A levels thinking that I would need it to fulfil my requirement to enter Japanese universities but it was completely useless in my case. rclxub.gif In the end, I still had to go through the whole process of sitting for EJU and JLPT and all and if the system is still the same then and now, I'm afraid that you would have to spend an extra year at least for this.

No two way about it as far as I know. But maybe things have changed now that I've left Japan for almost two years. So keep asking around, u never know icon_rolleyes.gif

All the best!!!! flex.gif
