QUOTE(seneador @ Jun 10 2013, 02:07 PM) if this is true, then it is great news indeed. BSC anyway has a site for commercial activities, so hopefully a big mall comes in and that will ensure we don't have to leave BSC for our dining, entertainment and shopping needs |

Hi Guys,
Collected my key today for Duranta Unit. Was quiet disappointed with the house overall outcome. 1) Found many crack line on walls all over the house. 2) Two ugly water tap controller right in front on the side of the main door into the house. dont know what the hell the designer were thinking or trying to achieve. 3) Master bedroom is too small for a 24x75 house design. And the toilet in the master bedroom wordless. can fight with one world genting toilet. or i guess one world is bigger. 4) TNB cabling outside of the house is so eyesore. 5) Deep Hole on pavement outside of the house. 6) Wood on the railing for the stairs case is so rough. you can even cut your hand if slide on it. The design of the house overall is a let down. cos to many corner and angle which took up the space of the living room. even my friend 20x75 house look more spacious then my house. Will continue my inspections next round cos the weather was to hot and disappointed to continue. Look like need to get in an ID to re do up the house. Hope you guys will have a better outcome then my units. Sad, Durantan |

Parkson has upgraded its image to go for brand names merchandise. |

In view of the speedy commercial development nearby, with Tesco confirmed and plenty of good food, Thai style, Kelantanese dishes, Econsave etc., I am very much inclined to move in and stay and see if we like the environment there. I am a 1 Malaysia Chinese.👍
It is ok to know what races are staying around you, why? Advantage: Everyday you are forced to converse in English (if your neighbor can't speak your language), so you, and especially your children can acquire good language skills other than your own mother tongue. Second, if you are unable to accept certain religious/cultural practices in the neighborhood, you can abstain from buying. So nothing un-Malaysian really. Let me illustrate the advantages of mixing with other races in a mix neighborhood through my own experience (what else!). It is a rather lengthy posting in order to give an insight to you:
I recall that my primary school was predominantly Chinese, with only one subject in Malay and one in English. ALL of us, even the best pupils, could not speak fluent Malay or English. Why? There was no need to as all pupils are Chinese! Trying to converse in other languages sounded very odd and we couldn't engage our talk much further before we broke off laughing! Came secondary school, then, some of us were put into an English medium school which had a good mixture of all races. My class monitor was Zaleha, a pretty and fiesty Malay girl. She was also a head prefect! She spoke excellent English and teachers loved her. She twirled around the teachers! I admired her so much that I decided to chat her up. At first, I had to string up my sentences in my mind but later English words just flowed out effortlessly! That's how I brushed up my spoken English. I remember recording and playing back my reading in English to improve my pronounciation! Then, I was asked to read English passages in class. Back then, my pronounciation was better than at present. You see, most people I speak to nowadays speak flat English, even so with speaking Mandarin. It is a matter of who you apeak to. In China recently, I transformed my spoken Mandarin to top Class, but not back here. Also, the lack of need to write in Mandarin has made me forget the writing though I can read well. It is in short, practice and just PRACTICE will make it!! Then in University of Malaya, where all lectures were delivered in Malay! We undertook weekly tuition where the tuitors made us translate on the spot English paragraphs into Malay. I made some awful stutters and the others laughed. That pushed me to try harder. We learnt Malay in our note making translating facts from English to BM, as it was compulsory to answer a few questions in Malay. Then into government service where extensive reports of research findings need to be written in precise and concise BM too. My top bosses, themselves Malay, held doctorate degrees and spoke excellent textbook English! Noone can speak better and impress more! You can see that what I had been through is a prolonged enforced learning in THREE major languages and inter-racial mixing. The result - language wise, not only I can speak TV DJ-style Mandarin, I also sound like a Malay when I speak Bahasa, and as for Engish, everything right minus the slang. I am trully lucky. Some of my primary friends were less fortunate as some went on to a Chinese medium secondary school, and never caught up with spoken English at all. Culturally, I am very comfortable with other races, having stayed 8 years with some Malay tenants, and understand some of their culture. Have you tried eating with your hands? Food actually tastes better that way! Top up your meal with ulam in sambal belacan, learn to cook ayam rendang, or ayam curry. As a result of exposure to Malay colleagues, I came across Kelantanese style cooking. Today, I swear that the best dishes are ayam/ikan goreng kunyit, ikan goreng asam pedas, or tiga rasa. Of course I still enjoy Chinese cooking, not to mention the Mamak dishes, abit less though. For Indian food, my Tamil housemaid showed me how to cook Dahl curry, that it can be kept many days and is so nutritious! What I want to tell here is, you really need to push yourself to mix and speak other languages. That will enrich oneself tremendously and prepare you for most situations. We all actually have the basics in our heads, and only speaking up daily can polish it up! Whatever effort you are prepared to put in, change comes even if you may not be aware. So a mix neighborhood is very advantageous to all. From what I see, BSC is a mix neighborhood. That is good for us all. This post has been edited by Supreme1394: Jun 11 2013, 08:59 PM |

QUOTE(seneador @ Feb 28 2013, 09:00 PM) What if the land is reserved by KLK big boss for his future mansion, with the straight direct connecting private road! I saw someone advertised for that piece of land for sale in iproperty if i'm not mistaken. Hopefully KLK will pickup and acquire it rather than letting it go to other parties which may spoil the neighbourhood. |
