I bought a battery grip.. the fake battery grip looks exactly the same as the real battery grip.. he sell me for RM 330, i search the net and the fake want sell only for RM 100 something.. the seller didn't write that it is a 3rd party battery grip.

I bank in to him on (Saturday) Aug 20 2011, 02:21 PM, and received on Aug 22 2011 (Monday).

Good post. At least I know how to spot a fake MB-D11 now...
Grip texture is completely different.. the most obvious is the serial number.. all fake use the same serial

I deal with a lot of OEM products also, but none of them have the same serial number. Only a fake would use the same serial number since they don't bother to check warranty anyway, one shot sale only.

It is not even an OEM product, it is a fake MB-D11.

Don't mislead people it as original, unless it is Meike or Phottix, they are 3rd party original products.

Agreed..

OEM products shouldn't have same serial number. Even aftermarket products also don't use same serial number. Only Fake does.

Either you don't know its fake(means your supplier telling lies) or you know its fake and trying to cheat TS. How can serial number be the same. And you say mistake by company? Dont bullshit.

Hope seller can refund back to TS, and TS will return the product back to the seller.

hairiny, stop selling that grip, if u remember I purchased one from you, but return the item to you eventually. I may forgive you if you too unable to spot the difference, since you yourself may not have the original MB-D11 to compare.

The difference in the imitation is;

- dial turn different direction than camera body
- grip is not made of metal on the inside
- rubber on the grip is softer
- battery slot inside lacks the big "PUSH" word on the
- the locking mechanism is loose

I am glad that you had no problem in me returning the item, so please do the same for TS. As for the grip, send back to whoever supplied it to you. No reason to spoil your name because of the supplier's fault.

Its good to know that there is more than 1 person affected by this. This way, I would know that its not one of those "mistake by factory" if I were to get one. I was actually considering of buying the 550D grip. If it is fake as claimed, I might be better off buying one of those Octopus brands. Any feedback on the Canon ones?

The main point here is if the item is Original Nikon or not. This thread is to discuss the issue of TS paying close to the original price but not getting original item as claimed by the seller.
