Hi all,
I'm new to m4/3, never used before - all these while only PnS, S95 & LX5. Thinking now to dip my toes into m4/3 world, and since I'm new - I was looking around, doing some research and would like to see some opinions from guru here... between the new GF3 with 14mm/f2.5 pancake and an older GF1 with 20mm/f1.7 which would you recommend?
I don't think I need zoom and I prefer to have a smaller camera instead of big huge 14-42mm lens, that's why I'm looking for pancake. Also I think I take more indoor photos than outdoors, hence I'm moving towards the 20mm plus I've heard this lens is really really good.
Any users of GF1/20mm and GF3/14mm care to advise?
Thanks!!!

Yes budget limitation because I'm new to m4/3 so don't want to spend $$ in this. Thought of looking for a good 2nd hand GF1 with 20mm to give it a try, worst case don't like I can sell it... QUOTE(xandman @ May 22 2012, 01:33 PM) Added on May 22, 2012, 1:35 pmu put the 2 as ur choices bcoz of budget limitation? if not i say get the Summilux 25. its f1.4 good for indoors!

thanks - so the kit lens 14-42mm is good enough even for low light? sorry i may be a noob but i noticed for kit lens it's F3.5.... thought the 20mm F/1.7 would be much better for indoor... anyone here using the kit lens 14-42mm and able to get nice indoor shots without flash? QUOTE(NISMOgan @ May 22 2012, 02:23 PM) poolcarpet: In my opinion, i recons the 20mm too as its a superb lens, but 14mm is greater for general usage like taking group picture or in a narrow area since you mention indoor. but then having f1.7 is a big plus indoor. go for GF1 is you like buttons, else GF3 if you like small but then GF3 is having mono mic and no hotshoe. depends on your own taste then wahhh how much is it ?!?!

yup, prefer the small 20mm pancake. thanks for all the info, i think i'll try and look for a 20mm pancake + gf1 or gf2 as a start.. QUOTE(NISMOgan @ May 22 2012, 02:49 PM) erm basically nope, f3.5 only @ 14mm, so for indoor its not really good unless u compensate with higher ISO. In this case the GF3 is better than GF1 noise handling. For my GF2, i go max up to 800 ISO indoor if no choice, still very acceptable for me. if dark places like cafe with minimal light, of cos the f1.7 have a big big advantage hehe. but i thought you wanted small as the 14-42mm is 2 big for u?
