DROOLLLLL.....

About same size as G3. Not bad.
*
1.The OM-D is quite tiny compared to the SLR of the 70's and 80's. The width
is only 122mm compared to the smallest old school slr the Nikon FG which is
136mm.
2.Another thing is the 12-50mm lens which is already so long and look odd. Will the
lens extend further when zoomed to maximum?
3.This camera will be great with the panasonic 14m f2.5 I think. Something
to save up for biggrin.gif
4.Many good product shot here:-

u can actually use the panasonic power x zoom lens on om-d..then it will be ultra compact!!
*
Are you sure that lens can be used since its image stabiliser has no on/off switch?
I am just wondering what will happen when both lens and camera body has their
own image stabiliser as in this case. smile.gif

Will Panasonic come out with this pair this year? Both constant f2.8 will
be great for OM-D. biggrin.gif

yes i am bloody sure..solution is simple u just turn off the OM-D inbody IS. You can not turn on both the lens and body IS..photo will be blur
*
Can we turn off the lens IS instead since the OM-D has a high tech
5 axis IS ? smile.gif

I have been looking at the OMD user manual here

http://www.olympus.co.jp/...imsg/digicamer...d/man_em5_e.pdf

and notice that shooting functions are completely menu driven. Not a single direct button.
All functions on one "super control panel" is cool though like the Q button in fuji X1pro

all the major setting can be assing to multiple button..u can at least customize 6 dedicated button to control iso..etc...more compare to any entry level SLR or even fuji...even the 12-50 lens got a button that you can use to assign anyting to it..

on the pricing..it is not known yet.. i dont think it will be rm4500 body only..should be cheaper...
*
It is 6 buttons if u get the 1250 lens plus the optional battery grip but without any markings
difficult to remember 6 buttons though smile.gif . If I am not wrong the standard body
has 2 Fn buttons and 1 video button which can be assigned.
As for street price I think body only will be less than 3K (USD999)maybe 2.8k hopefully
The 1250 lens is too long. I plan to get this and use with pana 14mm and 20mm. biggrin.gif

power zoom only useful for video ler..if u dun shoot video often dun reli need it. Not sure for IQ though
in terms of size Pana X lens is like pancake size. More compact than d normal kit lens
*

I am considering this lens for my future Olympus OM-D but is concerned about the foll:
1. can the lens IS be switched off when used on the Oly.
2. Reports of softness at the long end.
3. reports that zooming causes wobbling of lens
