When I was scouting for OMD-EM5 around KL, many people told me that the EM5 is not the top range of the olympus m4/3 series, there will be another series coming out soon year end. Is this true? can anyone confirm this? if yes i will refrain myself from buying em5 for now.

You are correct. I don't like it but a lot of people like it very much, it is like music, everyone has different taste. But still for someone looking for more input, here are mine.

If you use left eye to put on viewfinder, then you have very little space for your fingers to move the 2 dials. Now I understand why rangefinder and rangefinder style camera like X1000 and Fuji X100 put the VF to the far left, that's to give more room to the fingers.

The 2 rear button (including the play button) is partially block by the LCD screen, so every time you press them you are actually pressing the LCD screen too.

The strap ring on the right, it block your index finger and middle finger. It is OK if you don't use the 2 dials on top or you shoot with LCD screen only. Else you will find it quite annoying. You may need to buy some plaster.

Now, the button to turn on Live View shooting, why put it there and which finger should I use to turn it on and how? Thumb? Index finger?

Buttons are very cramped and navigating the menu will accidentally trigger something else. I have the problem even I have lady like fingers.

But at last I want to say, if you enjoy it, don't hesitate to own one of it! Different people has different needs and requirements, I am just trying show my views. I have read a lot about OM-D online and was surprise how little they talked about the ergonomics and even surprise when they say "it feels good on my hand"... Looks like I am the dinosaur, haha.
