The production company Aniplex confirmed on Saturday that the previously announced new Rurouni Kenshin anime series will be a two-part Shin Kyoto-Hen (New Kyoto Arc) original video anime series. The first part will play in Japanese theaters in December.
The new anime series will remake the Kyoto story arc of Nobuhiro Watsuki's original manga and the previous anime adaptation. In particular, it will depict the battle of Kenshin Himura and Makoto Shishio and will be told from the point of view of the Oniwabanshū ninja Misao Makimachi. Director Kazuhiro Furuhashi (Gundam Unicorn) and Studio DEEN are returning to animate the new series along with musical composer Noriyuki Asakura. Mari Okada (AnoHana, Wandering Son) is writing the scripts this time. Hiromitsu Hagiwara (Saint Beast ~Ikusen no Hiru to Yoru Hen~) is the new character designer, and Hiro Kaburaki (Kimi ni Todoke) will take over as the episode director. The cast will remain the same except for the role of Hajime Saitō, who will be played by Ken Narita.
Cast: Mayo Suzukaze as Kenshin Himura Miki Fujitani as Kaoru Kamiya Miina Tominaga as Yahiko Myoujin Yuji Ueda as Sanosuke Sagara Tomo Sakurai as Misao Makimachi Yoshito Yasuhara as Aoshi Shinomori Masanori Ikeda as Makoto Shishio Ken Narita as Hajime Saitō
Looks good so far.

Kenshin has always mistaken as woman. The only things that recognizing him as Battousai is his scar on his face and the sword that he is carrying with. The same goes for his sensei (if you have read Seijiro Hiko's one shot manga).
kenshin face is always the cute type la .. even when he's on hitokiri mode
They covered up a lot of details by doing long shots and adding buildings in the foreground. Instead of properly animating movement, they 'vibrate' frames and add speed lines. Instead of properly showing Hiko kicking ass, they do freeze-frames to create drama. I don't want freeze frames. I want ass-kicking like they did in the Trust and Betrayal OVA.
ic .. but to me that fight is perfect in a way ... a stand still then quickly decided within 1 attack ... of course not all may like it .. if u ask me i prefer the series over the OVA (based on previous OVAs) ...
In the manga, Kenshin live happly ever after. In the anime, the ending is hanged In the OVA, Kenshin got AIDS and die.
I prefer the manga's ending. Any ending prefered by the original author for me is the true ending. However, I do respect Shishio as the strongest enemy Kenshin ever face. The rest is just a bunch of idiot who fight him just for revenge and personal matter, instead of plan to take over the whole Japan(but Shishio's attempt to take over hell in afterlife is consider ridiculous lol)
