The other day I went to Low Yat and I found out that Steelseries has a new mouse called the "Sensei" smile.gif It's terribly expensive though, lol.

That's really cheap for a Xai at RM124. Do they have 1/2 price for Sensei? If so I will buy biggrin.gif

dont bother.
both technically same sensor, but just paying quite abit more for interpolation u dont need on the sensei.
Ok, I didn't know about it biggrin.gif I thought it's a different thing altogether with an ARM 32-bit processor or some crap that they implemented inside that mouse. However it does look interesting except the price, it's RM100+ more than the US retail price.

I just bought Steelseries Sensei today smile.gif First impression, it is more solid than Xai, buttons and scroller seems to be more responsive and feedback is great. The bad stuff would be the software is a buggy/sluggish, the first attempt to install it tries to flash my mouse firmware and crashed. I need to follow some special instructions from Steelseries to get it re-do again.

In the software I also cannot customize the button as volume up/down (since I'm using Filco, I don't even have that option). Anyone knows what's the macro to turn volume up/down?

I bought the Sensei and never bothered about the software. Keeps crashing as you've mention, the stuffs are pretty irrelevant, rather set on the fly instead. It slows down the boot up process of the PC too.

Yeah, the color sometimes doesn't turn out to be what we set in the software too biggrin.gif I guess expensive mouse are always like that? I used to own the Razer Mamba and it was a piece of crap. Do you know how to set volume shorcut keys on 5/6? I can't seem to find the option but in the reviews it shows up in the software sad.gif

Volume shortcut key is default by mouse 5 and mouse 6 if i'm not mistaken, download the steelseries engine and update your firmware so your software won't crash.

When you are updating your firmware, Sensei logo will be blinking with blue light.. so be patient.

I hope you have the mouse because I did exactly what is instructed by the software. I got passed the firmware update but the default mouse 5/6 is page up/down which is utterly stupid because we already have a scroller in the middle, lol. I can't find the volume short cut key at all in the software sad.gif

Open SteelSeries Engine.. and click on button function, you can program from there.. why you cant find?
*
Seriously, there's no preset option for volume at all smile.gif I can take a screenshot for you and there are limited functions available to assign to the keys. Do you have the mouse/software? If you have it in yours then something must be terribly wrong with mine. I don't know why it's not there either? sad.gif

To set a multimedia key, first click on which button you want to assign, then on the right click new action and name it whatever you want, after that at the bottom click advanced edit... then the macro editor should pop up, uncheck the record delay and in the white box press any key in it. For example I press left mouse click, so button 1 should appear. Now at the left box is action on press, it should be button 1-down and button 1-up, so click on button 1-down and at the bottom should appear type and action, then just edit type to multimedia and action to whatever you want, and done. Hope that helps smile.gif

Thank you sir smile.gif Let me try again when I get home. I didn't know there's a "secret" area and I need to set it as macro editor because normally the options will appear from the menu and it's straight forward. I'm old and looks like young people have a better idea on how to configure this mouse laugh.gif

I tried it, doesn't work. There isn't the "multimedia" option and when I do it, all I see is the button 1-down being shown on the macro. Either I'm stupid or this Sensei engine is a piece of crap.
